Hello my name is Adrian and I am looking forward to contributing to this forum. I have been interested in the night sky for most of my life but only recently bought my first telescope. The scope was a Skywatcher 130p which was a good first scope and which gave me my first wow moment, Jupiter and her four moons. Having got the viewing bug I soon realized I had to go bigger so I have just purchased a Celestron AVX with a 9.25 SCT optical tube and so far have had wow moment after wow moment.

So here's to speaking with you all and please if I ask to many questions do feel free to ignore.

Hi Adrian & Welcome to SGL.  Nice scope you have bought, you seem to have got some great views with it.  I don't think you will have your questions ignored on the forum, everyone here are a friendly lot.

If you want to meet like-minded folk you'd be welcome to join us at Heaton Park Astronomy Group when we start up again in October www.hpag.co.uk

Other than that there is the Astronomy Centre Todmorden and Salford and Bolton societies locally. We used to have a society in Oldham but that folded years ago.
