Merope in M45 - a little late in the season

I just can't believe how far M45 has travelled to the West but the Winter season would not be complete without a look at this lovely open cluster.

This image is centred on Merope which is a star in an area of reflection nebula that stands up to being singled out as it has a fascinating shape. I started very late tonight as we were celebrating my youngest son's birthday but it was great to get outside and image again even though my subject was rapidly falling away to the West and a lot of moisture was forming in the sky.

A very fine image Steve.

Good idea to concentrate on that area too, it's worth it in its own right.

I've not managed a decent M45 region yet, and it looks like I'll have to wait for next year now as the weather's closed in and I go away with work for a month soon :D

At least you'll all get some clear skies!!

Cheers

Rob
