Hello all. Quick post to introduce myself. Brand new to the world of astronomy and have recently purchased a Celestron Astromaster 130eq with which to begin my journey through the stars and planets etc. Once I've set it up I have no doubt the questions will start. Many thanks. Sky Raider

Hi and welcome to SGL :)

If you dont already have it you should download the free software called Stellarium from here http://www.stellarium.org/en_GB/

Its great for learning the night sky and there are also many excellent tablet and smart phone astronomy apps that will help you locate things with ease when you are out with your scope :)
