Hello all!

For about a year i have been casually veiwing the moon through my Bushnell Voyager telescope, and a few night ago I looked at Jupiter through my scope. WOW! I am hooked! I might not have seen the GRS or the bands, but the tan/grey disk and her moons were enough to literally take my breath away! I was afraid to breath, for the fear of bumping the telescope! I live in an area of little light pollution, so seeing most of the objects are not a problem. Tonight I think I will stay up till 1 or 2 am in hopes of seeing Saturn, or even look for the Andromeda Galaxy! I have basic knowledge when it comes to astronomy, tips welcome!

Hi, Wesley, and a warm welcome to SGL! If you haven't done already, I can recommend you download the free planetarium sofware 'Stellarium' which is used by many on here to not only find objects int he night sky, but also plan a viewing session. It is customisable to your location (location, light pollution etc) and to individual scopes/binoculars giving an idea of what you should be able to see through the eyepiece. Downloadable here: http://stellarium.org/

Hope that helps,

Martin
