Perfectly new to this hobby! I downloaded Stellarium to help me develop my navigation via sextant skills... got drawn further and further into the star map and am now looking to acquire my first set of binoculars purely for star gazing.

Fascinating stuff! Great site!

Hi and welcome to the forum. If you are going to be observing with a pair of "binos", you might want to look at this website for ideas and further information on what to observe each month. Also has good information on kit too and I recently noticed that the author is now writing a monthly article for the Sky@Night magazine - just to keep you busy! :grin:
