Mounting Flextube 8"

Is it possible to mount an 8inch (200P) flextube scope to an HEQ5 mount, or is the flextubing going to get in the way?

I've never tried it but I dare say it could be done, the balance point is going to be on the solid section of the OTA so the fitting of rings and a dovetail shouldn't be too difficult. The struts may need extending before the rings are fitted mind you.

It might be possible, but I imagine it would be a real pain in the neck. You may well have to remove the "ears" to get the upper ring around the OTA and then the balance point of the scope is going to be very close to that ring. I think I'd be much happier if the balance point of the OTA were well between the rings rather than very close to one end.

It's fruitless exercise , the tube assembly is much heavier than a 200P and that's as much as you want on an HEQ5.
