I am a wife of a seasoned astronomer who finds some stuff quite interesting and thought I'd join up to gain some extra knowledge to impress the husband.

I work in a secondary school as a Teaching Assistant with specialism in science and have 2 young boys who also love to view the universe (when it's not too cold!).

Welcome Nicki. It's great to be able to get kids interested in all things scientific, especially astronomy :smiley:

Hope you don't get too competetive with hubby :shocked: Is he a member on here???

Hi Nicki and welcome. It would be really great if you could get the children at your school interested in astronomy.

Are you planning anything regarding C/2011 L4 (PANNSTARS) comet that we should be able to see in the West in a few days time just after sunset? It would make a great school project, getting the children to draw what they saw etc. As long as it fits in with the governments current education policy that is!!! :rolleyes2:
