NGC 2146 a rarely imaged galaxy high in the sky:

Mark thanks for sharing these wonderful images. I must admit that I had not heard of the Umbrella Galaxy before but I note that it is NGC4651 in Coma Berenices. Certainly the extension of the galaxy looks like an Umbrella. Brilliant.

NGC4651 in Coma Berenices. It has an apparent mag of 11.39 so we should be able to view it although I doubt we will see the Umbrella.

Had a quick peep on Sloan DSS - a guide for what I can record - but the jet etc is invisible unless viewed as a negative [below] and thus out of my range.- shame.

A great set of three images Mark... leave some targets for the rest of us!

Both the NGC2146 and the Umbrella Galaxy shots are lovely (as usual ! ) with your 'trademark' processing of the data.

That M13 really is 'bang in your face', but would it be worth taming those rather hard orange star halos...?
