My name is David and my wife and I have retired to the Costa del Sol in Spain.

Always had some interest in astronomy, now have the time to do it.

Just purchased Skywatcher 80mm ED Pro and HEQ5 mount

Used to be a photographer so interested in astrophotography, initailly with a DSLR

Looking forward to making contact with some of you.

Hello David and welcome aboard. I hope the Spanish skies are clearer than ours :)

There is a lot to learn with AP, but some very knowledgeable folks here too to make life smooth, so any questions ask away and you will find the answers you need I'm quite sure :)

Hi David and welcome to the forum. You are clearly setting a course for some good astrophotography judging by your new kit! To help and advise you further, you may wish to consider taking a look at a book by Steve Richards called "Making Every Photon Count" (FLO £19.95) which you can view here. It's a very comprehensive guide on all that you need to know regarding imaging and will help you to develop your interest further.
