Hello to everyone here.

Like many new members I have also been a lurker of Stargazers lounge and have quietly and enthusiastically read members posts on all sorts of subjects and I though it was about time I took the plunge and contributed.

I live in West Sussex in the south east of England (probably the most light polluted section of the UK, well thats what it seems like :grin: ) and have been an astronomy enthusiast since I was small. My first scope was a Tasco (cringe!) 60mm refractor which I think still makes its lair somewhere amongst the collection of rubbish in my loft.

Unfortunately as we all know, life and work has a way of taking you away from the thing you enjoy and it is only over the past 6 years or so that I have been able to indulge in re-equiping myself with scopes that allow me to take a more serious view of the sky. I say 'scopes' because I seem to just keep buying them. At the moment I have a 10 inch Skywatcher dob, a Skywatcher Startravel 102 on a Goto AZ, a 5 inch equatorial Newtonian (on loan to a friend), a donated really old 3 inch Newtonian (it is branded on the side as an Astromaster but im not sure if it's Celestron because of it's age) and the current love of my life.....a Coronado PST I bought about three weeks ago from those smashing people at Telescope House (absolutely excellent service, and just 20 mins away from me :grin: ........ohh too many scopes and not enough money), so watch out all you solar imagers you'll be badgered by me about everything!

I also seem to rabbit on a bit so I'll leave it there and thank everyone in advance for allowing me into the community.

HI Cliff and welcome to the forum. Glad you finally decided to come aboard and join in on the banter and there is certainly plenty of info on here to keep you occupied as and when the clouds come in.
