About me

I am a retired U.S.N. diver. I retired on December 31 1992. I live in Saint Charles, Missouri, married and have a daughter and 2 grand kids. I have been hooked on Astronomy since I was seven years old. My very first object through a home made 2 1/2 inch refractor was Saturn and I was hooked for life. Here a some pice of my telescope. The 2 lights you see are cheap lights I got at Wal-Greens but they work quite nicely for setting up the scope in the dark. The full pad you see in the picture with light in the backgroud is where I roll out my scope and where I took the pics of the Moon. I must say it is quite bright but for now I have to make due.

Enjoy

Hi Dorado and welcome to the forum. Like your mobility scooter for the mount. How do you stop it moving around? You can get hold of some castors that have a sort of foot brake on them that you can kick down when you are in position - are these the ones you use? Very nice picture of the moon by the way and look forward to seeing more of the same!

Clear skies and hope you enjoy the forum,

James

I have 3 caster's all with locks. The pic's were shot through a Canon 600D T3i at 1/125th shutter speed and 1600 ASA. I have back yard eos on my laptop but as you can see I have no platform yet for it. I am making one now that will attach to the wedge. I actually shot those pics using my finger on the camare button and guess I got lucky. I use Adobe photoshop Elements 10 for processing but they lood so nice I didn't bother processing them. I am a Cards fan been following them since the 68 World series against the Tigers. Next clear night I will shoot more pics looking to shoot M51.
