Hi to all at SGL.

My name's Richard and I live about 1.5 miles from Tamworth in Staffordshire.

I've been interested in astronomy for 20+ years and have been a casual naked eye and binocular observer on and off during this time - but still pretty much a novice.

My interest has been rekindled (or should I say has 'flared' back up?) by recently learning about the Iridium Satellite network and how we can observe it.

I have 3 little boys 4,5 and 6 who I hope to pass the astronomy bug on too - early indications are good as they find it all fascinating :)

Thanks for the welcomes. Dare say there'll be plenty more as this seems a friendly place :) Porl, yes you just down the road. I have friends in Burton and pop over there quite regularly. The only optics involved those occasions though are being filled :eek:
