There wont be a build by me as im haveing it installed im just not capable at present :( but there most definatly will be photos and even a video :)

I had to cut about 1/4" off the back of my finder to reach focus. Luckily I've got another for use as a finder.

Ps have you screwed the front lens all the way in having backed off the locking ring? (most will reach focus but mine wasn't one of the usual brands)

Thats one ive never owned.. Ive owned the 300/2.8 none IS and used it for air shows.. it was a nightmare, a friend has the 400/5.6 its much friendlier for planes and birds in flight..

Congrats ... it'll also make a fantastic short scope when you get another ATIK 383 :P

Ive also owned the 100-400L and my copy was dreadful over 280mm :(

Hope not too serious medically, but at times I wish I was somewhere that did not need the use of a car Sometimes they can be a bigger pain/concern then they are worth.

Yep just happened to me,, had the scope set up @ 7pm,was hoping to view Venus and jupiter with some new colour filters and yep ,,along came the clouds,,.Great british weather.

Happens here on the Irish Sea coast all the time, temp drops, pressure drops, clouds roll in. Have not had a session longer than 4 hours this year!

This has happened to me for the past 2 weeks. Sunny during the day, clouds at night. I think this weekend may be the first in awhile i get to go out again.

I have been reading up on the 50mm and a few site say the the 1.4 has the edge over the 1.2. More reading needed :)

Nah... the bokeh and colour from the 1.2 is awesome, by f/1.8 its razor sharp.. I had both at the same time, the 1.4 was only really sharp at f/2.8. I never had the 35/1.4L my all accounts that's outstanding wide open..

Am getting camera envy :D check out the new 70D release today ... looks good..

Trouble is it's already pretty dark. Even if you painted the whole thing black it would still reflect a lot of light. I suggest explosives.
