Yes, that’s exactly what I got, and if it’s a 1mw as advertised then all good, I have also used a laser taken from a laser collimator, that worked well too, and made for the job…👍🏻
-
Yes ideally, I ordered 2 and when both came they were 5mw, and advertised as 1mw, but I did not dare try them, just returned and looked elsewhere on Amazon, but I can’t find my order to send you a link, it must have been on my sons account a year or 2 ago….

I got my laser pen from Amazon, but 1mw lasers seem harder to get now, and not sure I would trust a 5mw one…as it may damage the sensor…

That is a cracking image Adam, and beautifully processed, the colours are perfect IMHO…👏🏻👏🏻 ‘

anyone using a imx571 camera with n.i.n.a please-settings?
Stuart1971 replied to iwols's topic in Discussions - Cameras
You need someone to answer who has the exact same Altair Astro model IMX571 camera as you, because all the different ones out there, from different manufactures, use different settings, and different number systems for gain and offset, so what one person uses for a QHY268, for example, as I have, will not work for a ZWO 2600, and vice versa…so don’t use setting's from other makes of IMX571 as you will have bigger issues….👍🏻 -
Hi Adam, if I were you I would stick with NINA, and you will be fine, Any issues get on there Discord group and problems will be sorted pretty quickly by the group…i have used all the imaging platforms out there and NINA beats them all, and it’s free….It will do all you need it to, and more…👍🏻

Ah, ok I thought as he was using an EQ mount so wrongly assumed…👍🏻

Because the earth is tilted on its axis, north or 90 degrees is not straight up see this image and look at the equator line at zero degrees…
-
Zero degrees on the other side is below your horizon, so it won’t do that…

You are not on your own, I think the Mk 2 Mesu, has a pretty poor system for polar alignment, compared to the original, and to other mounts of similar quality, it seems a real shame and IMHO a backwards step. Have you looked at the JTW Trident friction drive mounts, these are very well priced 75kg payload, and the same PA adjustments as the original mesu…seem to be getting quite popular with more models on the way… https://www.jtwastronomy.com/products/p75-trident-direct-friction-drive-telescope-mount also much more user info here https://groups.io/g/jtw-astronomy-users/topics

Stunning, just stunning….👏🏻👏🏻

It does depend a lot on the target, and the amount of each signal present in a given target, some targets that are rich in OIII and low in Ha you may want to change your thinking and also your personnel preference for the final colour, there is no “one fits all” but I think you have this image spot on, personally, you nailed the colour for me…well done…👏🏻👏🏻

Takahashi FSQ-85EDX [visual]
Stuart1971 replied to josefk's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
Congrats on your new scope, I owned one for 3 years for imaging, and it was extremely poor with modern small pixel cameras, and the old design of the optics, so I sold it, but as you are visual only you will love it I’m sure….and the views will be superb…👍🏻 -

Hello, I de forked my LX90 some years ago, and it was a pretty simple job, not sure how different the LX200 is, the only bit of advice there is to make sure you loosen the screws in both fork arms, this allows the tube to be pulled free much more easily, and more importantly stops it getting scratched while removing… It was a 10 minute job. This may help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrTELZQnYak As for the CEM70, I have just got one, and fitted in my obsy, but I am purely an imager, I have not used in anger as of yet, but from the research I did, which was pretty extensive, it should be a great mount…and probably perfect for your needs.

Yes, I saw all this a day or so ago and meant to post it on here and tell people to avoid updating like the plague, also Darkarchon who developed the EZ procession script, which is widely used, has shut his server down so that has gone now as it would not work with the new version, nor the old if you have to roll back either….not sure why he has done that but he has never got on with the guys at PI… ☹️

Esprit 80 Draw Tube/ Focuser problem
Stuart1971 replied to mandrews's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
Hello, ‘Yea I have heard of this before, and you are correct the 2 sets of screws are for adjusting this and you do have to be careful, but as yours is so tight, and as long as you adjust a very small amount at a time, you should be fine, you have to loosen right off, for the pads to drop out… 1/16th of a turn on each of the 4 screws, make sure you adjust all 4 to keep the tube centered…👍🏻 Also check that the brake lever on the bottom is not stuck on… -

The Astap databases have been updated and renamed, and you need to download the new ones and point NINA to them….👍🏻 -

Stuart1971 replied to Elp's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
I assume you are referring to the Tak I owned, if so the I’m afraid you are wrong, I used that new flattener with mine, and it makes a very small difference…and why should you have to use 2 flatteners with such a premium scope, it’s a joke…I agree they SHOULD look excellent but they don’t at all….☹️ -
Oh don’t worry i’m not fretting, just curious I know Pegasus well, and I can assure you anything they make will be to work with there own kit only, and not to work with other manufactures kit, regardless of what they have told you…👍🏻
