  1. I had this in my DEC axis only on an EQ8 and it was the connection plug for that motor where is plugs into the motherboard…one of the wires had come adrift.. But you seem to have covered everything there and you would have re seated those plugs on the new m/board…so I am at a loss…🤔🤔
  2. Have a look here too https://web.archive.org/web/20160507164742/http://qhyccd.com/Download.html and here may be an even better option… https://www.astrolumina.de/kamerasysteme/alccd-qhy/software/
  3. Have you looked under the “discontinued camera” drivers on this page lower down… https://www.qhyccd.com/download/
  4. I put a very loose cover over my kit in the obsy in the winter, and then just heat the space under the cover, so it’s a few degrees above the rest of the obsy, I built a heater using a 12v heat pad between two 100mm square heatsinks, it runs at 25w and costs barely anything, and works superbly, keeps the temp under the cover at 5 degrees above the rest of the obsy, and is controlled by a temp and humidity sensor, using the humidity as the control to turn in or off…. Much better than trying to heat the while obsy…a very large SCT dew strap wrapped around the base of the mount would do the same job, for very minimal cost…..👍🏻
  5. I normally push the offending side down very hard on a good rubber mat and turn with a flat palm, works every time…👍🏻
  6. Yes it will be fine with a plastic one, as it generates heat anyway… And yes you can use the micro SD card, no worries, but I would consider a mini PC instead as the price is not much different and it’s far superior, especially with the free NINA software…
  7. So, I assume you are goi f to be using the superb Stellarmate or Astroberry imaging software, in which case you really need the Raspberry PI4 and 8gb RAM, you can then either use a large SD card in the PI, or attach an external SSD drive for even more speed, I used to run my set up this way, not a remote set up, it was in my back garden but all was run from the PI and I just used VNC to log onto the PI and control everything from my PC indoors, all wirelessly or in your case over an internet connection….and then you will need a good case for it, preferably a metal one with good cooling features…. HTH
  8. Well, the OSC version on Amazon prime day deals is down too. £611 😮😮 and next day delivery….so tempting… https://www.amazon.co.uk/Svbony-Astronomy-Telescope-Eyepiece-Illuminated/dp/B0BJ72KY8J/ref=sr_1_14?crid=2RNIBZWBTZEMT&keywords=Svbony&qid=1689063344&s=electronics&sprefix=svbony%2Celectronics%2C72&sr=1-14
  9. The other thing to remember also, is a lot of the time the seller will put a much lower value on the package, so you won’t get the full fees to pay either, I know for a fact when I have bought from China they have put a much lower price on the package, usually about 25% of the actual value, BUT what then happens if it goes missing, or damage, the seller can only claim for the value they put on the package, so how will that affect the buyer, I have taken the risk, but there is a risk…..🤔🤔
  10. Sorry, I see you are after the mono version, ignore my post above….
  11. This camera is actually available on Amazon for prime members for £670 (there is a 7% discount coupon) and in the UK for immediate delivery, I started a thread about it a few days ago…👍🏻
  12. The banding issue has supposed to have been sorted with a software update….but not 100% sure…I saw the same reports recently….
  13. I think the take from this thread and other posts I have read is that Player One over promise and under deliver on there camera data, this is not the first time I have seen this issue with there cameras, which is odd as Player one is owned by one of the original partners in ZWO, they split after a disagreement and one stayed at ZWO the other formed Player One, so would think the cameras would be on par with the ASI counterparts….but that does not seem to be the case….🤔 @Luke Newbould may well have some insight as he is a big advocate for these cameras….
  14. Actually it was about 4 times to see the replies I got…..😂😂
  15. Actually yes, as mountain biking is my summer hobby, and don’t do much Astro…if any…it’s a September to end of March hobby for me…👍🏻
  16. Really…..Wow, how sad is this thread….I never checked since it went down, as I have a life….😂😂
  17. No competition really for your purposes, the ASI174mm Mini all the way…. 😉
  18. I had one of the Deep Sky Dad versions on my scope for about 18 months, and kept in a wooden shed observatory, a few days last year it reached over 50c degrees in there and had no issues at all, they are well made and do the job very well, one issue is in the very cold nights around -3 - -5, I noticed it would not close up straight away as the servo was not responding very quickly, due to the mechanism being frosted up, and took a couple of attempts to close within the software and one night it did not close all the way and had to finish off by hand…. But in the whole very good….👍🏻
  19. You can not prove or disprove anything until you use your mount correctly, if you try EQMOD and then use PPEC, all your issues will go away, this proves the mount is mechanically fine, and the ASIair driver is very poor for this mount….the seller is correct, the mount is fine and works just like any other EQ8, which I have, so ditch the ASIair…
  20. I see you use the ASIair and so can’t use PPEC, in which case you are screwed, as it needs the PPEC to be used, there is nothing wrong with your mount it is normal, as you can’t use PPEC, dump the ASIair and get a mini PC with EQMOD one even better GS Server, and all your issues will go away….simples….👍🏻
  21. So what happens when you run the periodic error tool and then have that turned on, as you mount Phd graph, looks perfectly normal for one that is not using PPEC….mine was the same before I used….🤔
  22. Correct it is Retvis direct, £719 plus a 7% reduction voucher, so £670 at checkout….👍🏻
  23. They do ship direct to the UK, and they have told me that have a special shipping method that does not incur any more costs for us at our end, so not sure what that means, maybe they declare a much lower price on the package…..🤔 But surely you are better buying from Amazon UK, the price is better and next day free delivery with prime…why would you want to have it shipped from abroad….?
  24. Hmmm, different model altogether, so not much help at all really….🤔
  25. Anybody have any reviews on this Svbony IMX533 camera, with the discount voucher for prime members it just £670 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Svbony-Astronomy-Telescope-Eyepiece-Illuminated/dp/B0BJ72KY8J/ref=pd_lpo_sccl_3/260-0758832-1888458?pd_rd_w=pLXUk&content-id=amzn1.sym.efc89c20-c5a9-4620-b6cd-2f4e51bac956&pf_rd_p=efc89c20-c5a9-4620-b6cd-2f4e51bac956&pf_rd_r=ZT6FZC7Q2W7Q4JQ3EAKY&pd_rd_wg=mFDjP&pd_rd_r=19ff592e-d54a-489a-8c08-03b5cec0a9ef&pd_rd_i=B0BJ72KY8J&psc=1
