  1. I've actually finished the repairs and relocation of my pulsar 2.7m dome. The Phoenix Complex is complete, yay. Now for equipment installation. Well it's complete until I muster up the energy to motorise it, lol.
  2. Yeah, chuffed, it didn't say that on the order info, lol.
  3. Excellent news, well impressed Steve, you'll have to send me details of all the bits needed, please, lol.
  4. Never to much comfort Jeremy, although as you say at 2am in the morning who knows, I may nod off, lol.
  5. New chair for the revamped obsy arrived today, lol. Not quite what I expected when I opened the box, lol.
  6. Welcome to this brilliant forum. Enjoy your new hobby. Plenty of people on here who can help with any questions you may have in the future.
  7. No I hadn't, lol, but now you mention it that would be nice so think I'll do the same. Thanks for the suggestion.
  8. Sorry I forgot to mention the obligatory cooled cc'd, DSLR, filter wheels and remote Observatory Jeremy, lol.
  9. Telescope's needed, three for solar, ha, cak and white light, f4 12inch Newtonian for DSOs, 11ich SCT for moon and planetary. Grab and go scope's 70mm ed and actromatic along with 70-300mm and 500mm telephoto lenses, pair of binoculars should cover most "NEEDED" observational situations, lol.
  10. Welcome to the forum, brilliant people here.
  11. Dome had second coat yesterday and started the decking today. In between solar imaging, lol.
  12. Maybe go second hand? More bang for bucks. Most of my equipment is second hand, celestron 11 inch XLT f10 for £900, Neq6 for £600, 12inch f4 £350, Lunt 60mm double stack for £2000, 70ed for £150, etc, etc. Half market value and majority of the stuff not used a lot. I've probably got £10,000 worth of equipment for around £4,000. Acquired over the years I might add, lol. People sell on this forum and astro adds. Just a thought.
  13. Welcome back from the world and life to life with the stars, keep looking up and have fun.
  14. Hi, I got a second hand manfrotto tripod for £30 and fitted a mini wedge to it. Brilliant tripod and wedge can image with a 300mm telephoto lens on the camera, probably at max load. The wedge is an ioptron alt-azimuth adjustable base £59.
  15. On a side note my solar Observatory is now in use and first light today from the Phoenix Complex solar obsy.
  16. Hi Carole, I'm really pleased too with how it's looking. Learn so many different skills with this relocation. I probably can do boat repairs now, lol. Thanks for your concern. Yeah, still a little step inside, I'm leaving it for now and probably install some dim red led lighting around the step. I originally intended to put in a hinged flap that would fill the gap when observing but liked the look of the step, lol. If I find that it's a hazard I'll put in the flap. I'm decking the outside beams this week.
  17. First coat of paint today, hate painting, lol.
  18. Tried my best to stack the 20X25sec images with my canon 700d and 70-300mm telephoto lens set at 300mm. Challenging as I'd only a omegron clock drive on a tripod. Anyway here's the stacked image. Lots of artifacts I'm afraid.
  19. Well done, looks amazing now and just in time for Mars and the darker nights. I'm coming up to eight weeks but held up with repairs which put me back about three weeks.
