That made me smile, that is soooo true, lol.

More flooring done today plus usb3 and mount wiring under floor. All watched by one of my cat's, lol.

I just used the same hardware as before with plenty of grease when I refitted the wheels. Dome rotates a treat, better than before. Did the shutter rollers and added a roller each side of the middle of the dome shutter too. Made it slick to open now, again much better than before as I was struggling to close it. All manual, not motorised.

Yeah, think I'll do the same, lol.

I'm always hitting my head on the door frame but hasn't knocked any sense into me yet, lol

Welcome, don't rush Ian to buying a scope, if astro imaging is the road you take it can get astronomical, lol. Most of my kit is second hand and is 50% cheaper than buying new. Most people look after their equipment but seek advice first. Enjoy your hobby. Try grabbing a pic of the comet Neowise in wide angle with tripod and camera t the moment.

Hi all, back into my comfort zone after imaging comet Neowise. Here are images from the 10th, 11th and 12th of July 2020. Struggled a little with the processing must have been because I'd changed to Deep Sky Tracker for the comet instead of Autostakker for Solar, lol. Lunt 60mm DS, Zwo Asi 178mm. Autostakker3, ImPPG and Phtoshop CS2.

Hi all, a venture away from my comfort zone of solar imaging, lol. Comet F3 Neowise from last night. Unmodded canon 700d and 70-300mm telephoto lens set at 200mm, Omegon clockwork drive. Inverted one just for fun, lol. Deep sky stacker used to stack images. Each image 25sec @ iso800. Some cloud along the horizon that dissected the comet.

Fantastic images of the Comet, stunning. -
I originally bought some of those but didn't fit my dome because the dome doesn't have an inner lip.

Looking good. -
True Dave, lol

That's soooo true, lol.

Thanks Rusted. I've just cobbled together MK2 version which completely latches down rotation, lift and wind
-
Thanks Rusted appreciate your thoughts. Interesting ideas but I'd still have to ensure engagement after observing. Electronic deadbolts that engage and disengage the dome when you lock or unlock the door would be the ultimate solution, lol.

Hi rusted, thanks for your comments, my pulsar dome is the older type so it's harder to see how one can do the same. The dome sits on the wall and has the wheels attached to the dome itself. Pulsar reversed that and now wheel's on the wall. Image of my dome wall shows the difference. I'd be glad if I could fit something that was perminent and didn't have to engage or disengage but I've thought about it since thieve's lifted it off and damaged it. For the life of me I can't. Perhaps a challenge for someone on here, lol.

Thanks, interesting idea on the additional piece, I'll have to experiment. I've also thought of using two identical anti lift brackets that would go either side of the partition wall with a bolt through that would make it even more anti theft. It would stop the dome being able to be rotated, lifted or blown. Going to experiment tomorrow.
