  1. Great work, enjoy the darker night's with less set up time, lol 🌑🪐
  2. Spectroscopy book arrived, some bedtime reading. Here's hoping I'll get better results with my low tech star analyser 100, lol.
  3. Brilliant Jeremy, you'll not regret it. Smooth operation from now on. Roll on some clear skies. I've been waiting for clear skies this last ten days to polar align the mount in my obsy. According to the forecast August is out 😭😭😭
  4. Not astro painting, lol. My recent creation, don't laugh, lol.
  5. Just Heard this is being delivered tomorrow, lol. Can't wait. I've a star analyser 100. Managed to get a decent spectrum of Vega before. So want to delve deeper into spectroscopy. Added the spectral chart of Vega.
  6. That reminds me, I need a kettle in my Observatory.
  7. My electric body warmer, lol. Particularly in the winter.
  8. Will definitely update the progress Stuart, thanks. Need to get all the bits and bobs, lol.
  9. Yes it's for dome rotation. I wonder if a rubber wheel would work.
  10. Okay, so I've got the motor working. I'm thinking attaching a T10 pulley. I've got a small 5mm belt pulley, pic attached but what belt width? Is 10mm to little? Should I go for 25mm belt?
  11. Okay, a little forward today. Had a 12v DC to AC adapter and motor was perfect. Reversed, slowed down and speeder up in both directions. Really chuffed. VID_20200814_124725.mp4
  12. Hi all, I've stripped down an old mobility scooter for the motor and bought a variable speed and reverse controller. The motor is 24v so was going to get a 24v DC to AC adapter. Now it's going to be simple just to move the rotation of the dome around and whilst observing/imaging. No fancy computer link up. I'm not completely sure but are the connection points to the side of the motor negative and positive. How do I tell what is which? Thanks for reading.
  13. Great to see all the progression, it'll be worth it. There's such a lot of work, planning and build management in building an observatory, only when you've done it do you appreciate all the effort.
  14. Hi Roger, I've a zwo ASI 224mc that I'll use. Yeah, good FOV. Should be up and running today but the weather isn't great, typical, lol.
  15. Sorry to here this after all your hard work 😭
  16. A lot easier Jeremy, I was going to leave it clear, lol.
