  1. Will definitely update the progress Stuart, thanks. Need to get all the bits and bobs, lol.
  2. Yes it's for dome rotation. I wonder if a rubber wheel would work.
  3. Okay, so I've got the motor working. I'm thinking attaching a T10 pulley. I've got a small 5mm belt pulley, pic attached but what belt width? Is 10mm to little? Should I go for 25mm belt?
  4. Okay, a little forward today. Had a 12v DC to AC adapter and motor was perfect. Reversed, slowed down and speeder up in both directions. Really chuffed. VID_20200814_124725.mp4
  5. Hi all, I've stripped down an old mobility scooter for the motor and bought a variable speed and reverse controller. The motor is 24v so was going to get a 24v DC to AC adapter. Now it's going to be simple just to move the rotation of the dome around and whilst observing/imaging. No fancy computer link up. I'm not completely sure but are the connection points to the side of the motor negative and positive. How do I tell what is which? Thanks for reading.
  6. Great to see all the progression, it'll be worth it. There's such a lot of work, planning and build management in building an observatory, only when you've done it do you appreciate all the effort.
  7. Hi Roger, I've a zwo ASI 224mc that I'll use. Yeah, good FOV. Should be up and running today but the weather isn't great, typical, lol.
  8. Sorry to here this after all your hard work 😭
  9. A lot easier Jeremy, I was going to leave it clear, lol.
  10. Sorry to hear all the issue's you've had recently. I hope you get it all sorted out. You've spent a lot of time on your build and is looking great. Here's hoping all will be sorted without buying another dome and all that entails.
  11. I don't really do barlow imaging of the sun but the seeing wasn't to bad so I put my 2.5x powermate on the Lunt 60DS and I'm quite thrilled at the results. I particularly like the mono image as apposed to the false colour one. Will include full disk when I've finished it, lol.
  12. Awwwwww, thanks Xsubmariner, appreciate your comments, very encouraging.
  13. You could benefit with a tilt plate to help with the Newton rings. Great though, well done. Also have you tried I'mPPG for post stacking?
  14. Celebrated this evening the completion of the Phoenix Complex dome. In our own little beer garden, lol
  15. I've 12 sockets, six on the wall and six on the mount pilar via a simple six socket circuit breaker extension fed from the two underground armoured cables.
  16. Probably a quality control issue with the cmos chip. I would have sent it back.
  17. Sorry Nicolas, never seen those on my imaging with my 178mm. I'm no expert but it's seems an artifact from the actual CMOS chip.
