  1. Thanks, just in post processing, changing the white blown out disk to black.
  2. Thanks Alan, once you get the solar bug it's a downward spiral, lol.
  3. Hi all, only managed full disks in CaK today. Clouds rolled in again. Some lovely proms even in CaK. Unfortunately I couldn't get any close ups due to clouds.
  4. Brilliant Paul well done. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Goodness Dave. Hope it gets better for you soon. My stats for June was 21 days of solar observation/imaging out of the 30 days. I thought that was pretty good going and was surprised it was that many.
  6. Thanks Dave, hope you get some rays soon. I'm clouded out today.
  7. Thanks, much appreciated. It's certainly a little monster. Show's us you don't need a massive AR to get an X flare.
  8. Hi all, managed to capture the X1 flare today between the clouds. It only lasted a few minutes but produced an X-ray flare that hit the earth a little later. Images taken at 14:31 and 14:34UT.
  9. Welcome Alessandro, great people on here, enjoy the forum. By any chance are you on Solar Chat?
  10. I'm going to stick my head above the parapet and also don't see the point in taking image's of DSO,s, or galaxies just for the pretty picture considering the expense and time involved just for a pic even if it's a challenge. However if it's of scientific value, nova outbursts, comets, solar, variable stars, variable nebula or planetary observations where things change (and much more) then there is real value in amateur astronomy.
  11. Well done Peter. Hopefully we'll be in for some interesting activity over the next twelve days weather permitting.
  12. Hi all, a very quick one frame only as not processed yet of the tiny surge today 24th June.
  13. It's awful, only just found out from family who live near there. Was hoping to visit in October when I've a wedding to go to in Ayr. I was looking forward to seeing it. Hope they can get some crowd funding campaign going.
  14. Hi all, only managed a full disk in calcium II K today. Cloud's and DIY getting in the way, lol.
