  6. Gabe Have you tried using any other eyepieces With my 10" Dob, have issues viewing Saturn and Jupiter with 10mm eyepiece When use 17mm, even 25mm You using 1.25" or 2" eyepieces I found also was not able to focus using 2" barlow, and not an issue with 1.25" barlow John

  8. Yes Portable Runs a EQ mount for a week at astrofests Mine has dual 12V outlets, as well as dual USB Also have extension 3port 12V adaptor Runs guiding scope and ZWO camera Attached pic taken at recent club solar viewing day John
  9. I have EQ5pro mount Not sure how motor assembly is constructed internally Now use SynScan WiFi adapter, with SynScan APP Takes lot of guess work out of GPS, date/time I also use car jump start battery pack to power my EQ5 mount

  13. Which eyepiece you using I use 1.25", and find 17mm to 25mm works perfectly with my 10" Dob If you trying to use 5mm or 10mm, then could have focus issues Most SW Dobs come with a 25mm and 10mm eyepieces Perhaps rock up one night club close to you Most members only too happy to help out John

I use laser collimator Have on lowest power setting Align secondary, so on dot, middle of the primary, then adjust primary Takes a couple of minutes I am out couple of times per month, with my club, doing school/scout group presentation, as well as monthly club meet Very rarely need to touch collimation If only using Dob at home, then never be a need to touch, unless you bang the Dob against door or something else Pic taken at a recent public viewing night John

Olli Your Dob solid or flex The pic I sent you was taken at a recent public viewing night on the foreshore with my club In background is also an 8" flex dob with shroud When out doing presentation school and scout groups, base and Dob sit on back seat of my SUV Bit of rope from Dob to seat belt mount to stop rolling off the seat I also use right angle spotting scope Saves laying on ground when aligning I store mine in study, collapsed position Respect to solar viewing The hard plastic cover has an removable cap The cap fits over the other detent for storage Get some visual baader film, and cut a small square, and sticky to underside of hard plastic cover Leave spotting off to avoid accidental viewing The attached pic was taken of solar eclipse several years ago, with my mobile phone held to eyepiece of my Dob, with the Baader film Cheers John
