  1. Don't forget/ exclude the flatpack Keter plastic sheds. Not as expensive as a wooden shed and, at least one person on here has used one in the unlock the roof and lift it off mode.
  2. Triggers Astrograph? 😉 Very nice rebuild and cracking image!
  3. Black hole: First picture of Milky Way monster - BBC News
  4. Agnes, Another superb project! I really like the Bortle charts. They give a far more realistic idea of what the sky looks like from a particular location. They will also give some illustrative ideas for those engaged in the Light Pollution campaign. One question- would an acetate Telrad/ Rigel type overlay be a possible for the book or are the illustrations to differing scales?
  5. How long have FLO been selling trains? 😉
  6. Autostakkert! regularly shoves the video I am trying to load and process into the bottom corner of the screen so that I can't work on the whole image. What could I be doing wrong?
  7. Very clear skies this morning so, after chores, I deployed the kit and bagged a couple of video runs of the main groups. I then decided to use the Mk 1 eyeball while data copied to the external drive. Kit used- C6 SCT with supplied mirror diagonal, 25mm EP, with and without Continuum filter I made out 6 very distinct groups, starting at the appearing limb following an arc with three of the groups quite close together approaching the opposite limb. On casting around however, I found another 4 quite small groups, two to the north of the arc described by the distinct groups, one between the two groups furthest left in my EP and a final group just north of the distinct spot/ group closest to the limb. I missed the faint groups on first viewing through white light but, they became more distinct when using the continuum filter. A very satisfying morning.
  8. Good stuff Mike. A very nice looking finish. I like the gratuitous power tool accessory shot as well 👍
  9. Wahoo! Got all my jobs done early and I'm capturing data as we speak!
  10. Two days on the trot I have looked outside, seen glorious clear skies so decided to do some Solar imaging. Two days on the trot, as I have set up, not a cloud in sight. Two days on the trot, once kit is on, balanced, connected and ready, I can't see the target due to chuffing cloud......
  11. Sony a6300 ISO 100, 1000th sec. C6 SCT on HEQ5PRO. As it came out of the camera apart from resizing and converting to PNG.

    Bank holiday had an effect?
  15. if texture is important, would offcuts of plastic packing strap work?
  16. I sympathise with the subterranean demolition work- had to do similar when installing my pier. A nice project. I look forward to following your progress.
  17. Hi @ninjageezer I had the same a little while ago and posted it here- I haven't had the chance to try it again since but I believe that on setting up and initiating PHD2, you need to calibrate on an area nearer to the celestial equator first. I am sure someone will be along soon to clarify.
  18. Nice idea Paul. Bring me back some peanut butter M&M's whilst your at it........
  19. I have an HEQ5PRO which carries either my C6 SCT or my SW150 Newt. Any issues with images tend to be a meatware problem as opposed to caused by the mount.
  20. I think the correct term for their activity is probably Navel Gazing?
  21. Nice combination of data sets Carole. Quite atmospheric.
  22. A nice update and I'm glad it seems to be working out nicely for you.
  23. Malcolm- I have just cut and pasted this into an e mail to myself as an aide memoir for my setting up. Cheers!
  24. Well done on what looks like a 'Proper Job' Peter. Looking at the image of the old primary, it almost looks like impact chips from something? I love the RDF/RACI bracket!
  25. I bet this is the first time you have 'hoped' that a grotty weather forecast was accurate for a proof of concept test!
