Venus from 28.01.2020, captured with Celestron C9.25, baader UV filter and Asi 290mm camera. Stacked 10% of 25,000 frames captured Fair seeing conditions, the phase and clouds showing very nicely. The baader UV filter delivers again on Venus. I would love get a sharper image sometime, but not its the easiest of targets.

A great opportunity to see the innermost planet.

I can remember seeing it a few years back when it was quite close to Venus in the winter evening sky, it looked fabulous to the naked eye.

That's definitely correct, also the older UV filters used to leak IR as well. That's why a IR cut filter is recommended. But for cloud detail you need to capture the UVsignal, not block it. I tried the wratten 47 and an IR cut filter before I owned a Baader UV filter. I never had any luck capturing any detail though. Looking forward to seeing your results, I have seen details captured on Venus images with other filters when I have researching online in the past.

Not sure you want to use a UV/IR cut filter with the #47 filter. you need the UV part of the spectrum to pass through the filter not be blocked by it.

A incredibly tricky object, great effort to capture it. I also saw it on the BAA website.

A lovely winters scene, Orion really is a wonderful sight.
