  1. That's really good, I like that.
  2. Hi Geoff, have you seen this post: Clear skies, Rolf.
  3. Amazing. That RASA8 is certainly a good scope for the limited observing time that we get here in the UK. I really must save up for one.
  4. You don't have to limit yourself to the Meade products. You can use any flattener that is suitable for an 115mm/f7 scope. TS Optics offer a generic flattener that is suitable for their own 115mm/f7. I got the HoTech SCA 1x field flattener for my Tecnosky 90mm/f6 and it works very well in combination with my ZWO ASI533MC. Have a look on the FLO website, they sell these two and others and have got them in stock. Rolf
  5. That's beautiful. Great framing. I like this very much.
  6. That's beautiful, so much detail!
  7. Wow, that's stunning!
  8. So that's where it lives! Interesting neighborhood. I must visit it sometime. Very nice image, thanks for sharing!
  9. That's beautiful, so much detail and nice colours. I would be well chuffed with a result like that! Interesting what you're saying about mono vs colour cameras. I went from DSLR (Fuji XT2) to OSC (ASI533MC) with the thought that once I got the hang of the whole lot of capturing and processing images properly then I would 'upgrade' to a larger mono camera. But I'm not so sure now. Mono may be more sensitive and have better resolution, but with OSC you end up with a complete image to enjoy straight away. Rolf.
  10. Beautiful! In this colour scheme I think that the blue halos add to the overall picture, you got that just right. Rolf.
  11. Lovely picture, great lot of fascinating detail. Thanks for sharing! Rolf.
  12. It all looks very impressive, Ian! There will be some great pictures to come from that setup once your guiding problem has been sorted. Have you tried doing the guiding just using PhD2, bypassing NINA? Good luck with it, Rolf.
  13. Wow, unusual and fascinating. Thanks for sharing!
  14. Very nice! It shows how much interesting stuff there is just beyond the usual objects. Fascinating!
  15. That's looking very promising. So much detail in there, must be great at full resolution! And it's an interesting discussion. I have only recently started imaging again and so far have only imaged 'classical' stuff like M27, M31, M45, Heart Nebula, that kind of stuff. My setup gives me a FOV of just over 1 degree, so lots of it is too big to fit in. The choice is then to create a mosaic, buy a larger camera or a smaller scope. But with a smaller scope you miss out on the detail. And I've got more time than money, so mosaics it is for now. Besides, from what I've seen on the forums, good astrophotography can be done at any pixel scale. And you've got to play the long game in this hobby. Good luck with it, I look forward to seeing the full SHO image. Rolf.
  16. That's great detail and colour indeed! Very striking image. Thanks for pointing out that script.
