  1. Thanks Malcolm, ordered mount from FLO today so I an expecting 2 months of clouds to come with it! 🤣
  2. Thanks Malc-c and scotty38, the fact that it can be done is the key for me👍 I will look into direct connect with NINA but the reply from malc-c will let me get started then I can look at things like GS Server (new to me) once I get used to the mount. Assistance really appreciated as I have 0 experience of EQ mod and skywatcher mounts and didn't want to invest in the mount to find out it didn't work the way I hoped, thanks guys.
  3. Hi, hope this is the right forum for this question/advice, if not perhaps a moderator could move it? I am thinking of purchasing the above mount so I can use EQmod with it as a remote setup, I have a celestron AVX at present but the problem with it is, you have to be there at power on to slew it to home position (quick align) then I can connect to NINA slew it and plate solve. My question is will the above mount allow me to power off after an imaging session with the scope in a safe park position to clear the roof, then power up remotely (Dragonfly switch), connect via EQ, unpark the scope so the mount remembers where it was parked, and then be slewed to the home position or a target? I am happy to plate solve and sync in NINA for final alignment then run a sequence to park scope close roof and power off scope. Any help greatly appreciated and if anyone has found a solution for the AVX method even better, I have tried CPWI software but it keeps losing connection with the scope and can't be recovered so not reliable!
  4. Well enginneered solution good luck with the clear nights🙄 been terrible so far.
  5. Brilliant project, more pictures pleases👍
  6. Two reed switches in series work for me, but they go to lunatico dragonfly which wont allow the roof relay to operate if the scope isn't in the park position, so wouldnt know where to start with RPI.
  7. Nice, clean and simple design, I might get around to giving this a go👍
  8. I also have only just found this post but thanks to the original poster for an excellent design and simple solution, much appreciated Bill👍
  9. Cheers Rolf, I thought about it and may well end up doing that but NINA reacquires and forces calibration after star lost or meridian flip so would be nice if I can get it working!!
  10. Excellent build and good luck, there are many and easy mistaked to make setting up an observatory, I know, I made them and invented a few extra! This looks well thought through and the assistance and ideas to be found on here will answer nearly all of your questions. I will follow your progress with interest👍
  11. Trying to get NINA working with everything but having a real mare. First problem Hitec Astro is only 32 bit so won’t work with NINA 64 bit had to install 32 bit version, now works. But whichever version I use NINA will run a sequence brilliantly without guiding, but as soon as I try to add guiding to the sequence, I get an error message saying it can’t download the images!!!!!!!!! Really killing me so any advice greatly appreciated as NINA is key to getting everything working together.
  12. Excellent build, clean design and very well executed👍
  13. Love it superb images, never tried RGB with SHO before, just starting out really, but I like the result👍 But please, bortle 3 and you just happen to be able to capture rocket launches, did you happen to get Captain Kirk waving out of the window! 🤣 Superb and a lot of hard work, well done.
