  1. I've just been made 'Leader' of the D&C club and I'd like to drum up a little interest. I'd like to see some activity in here! So, I'm trawling through the old posts from before it was converted to a 'club' and sending out invites to members who reside in the region. I'd like members in the area to get to know each other, and see if we can turn this into a thriving observing/imaging group. Feel free to chip in with ideas for how we use this resource as well. So, if you receive an invite, please accept, pop in and say hello
  2. This is a fabulous build James, I don't know how I've missed it until now.
  3. Struggling here still. This page took about 40s to load.
  4. All good so far. Wish ULA could afford webcams though! ?
  5. Somebody told me there was a prize for this. Where do I put my address for the cheque? ?
  6. I was at the AS monthly talk so missed this. Nice to see 'block 5' did it's job successfully though.
  7. Astonishing image. What a great use of the palette. I think a massive thumbs up, the main reason for me being all of the structure you've captured, and your treatment of it gives it so much depth, it feels like I'm wearing 3d specs!
  8. Mission accomplished. Time to look at some planets.
  9. That's no good, I'm busy on Wednesday. Tell them to change it to tomorrow!
  10. This page shows you how to do simulations. But be quick, as demo performer says, the site is being dropped soon.
  11. Fabulous collection of images. I think I might sell the house!
  12. That's a beast Mr Drew. Proper telescope, I love it.
  13. As seen here in this uninterrupted footage from somebody on the ground with an LX200 and some nice tracking software. It's an incredible feat. The little detail (from the press conference) that stood out for me was how they had to land them not quite simultaneously to avoid confusing the radar.
  14. Centre core hit the water at 300mph after not having enough propellant to slow descent.
  15. orbit tracking link http://www.n2yo.com/satellite/?s=43205
  16. Turns out the press conference hasn't actually happened yet. Earliest will be 23:45 GMT. Streamed here
  17. That was animated footage by the look of it. (edit - Just noticed it actually says animation) They also have factual errors "ignited all 27 of its engines at once" No it didn't
  18. Several journos reporting reporting on twitter the centre core didn't make it. Apparently there was a press conference at approx 6pm EST - 23:00 GMT. I'm sure there will be videos and explanations later. Still, an amazing achievement.
  19. The SpaceX subreddit has some good stuff.
  20. That's what I mean, they'll have had a fireball to deal with potentially, then possibly a search for the video gear and then waiting to get it back to land. The drone ship was about 300km down range I believe.
