  1. Thanks for that, its very informative.I like Trevor, seems like a nice guy. Mick.
  2. Thanks Alan, always appreciate the comment. I don't seem to be getting much better at this lark,so may stop posting.I,m still happy at my own results, and that's what counts. However I,ve said this before, and I,m still here.(LOL). Mick
  3. Hi. After a spell of poor weather I managed to get out a couple of nights ago. I chose IC5146 as it was high in the sky.I imaged this with Ha and RGB Filters.About 2hrs per Filter. 80ED and 73ED scopes were used. Fully calibrated with calibration frames. I could,nt push too hard as the Blue was giving me the dreaded blue halos. If anyone knows a good tutorial to handle these halos, please let me know. Mick.
  4. Hi. My above post is wrong. This only works with the Altair Astro Field/Flattener ONLY. The reducers for some reason have a different thread when you unscrew the 2 inch nose piece. Sorry about this. Mick.
  5. Captured the Galaxies nicely Francis, but somehow the background does.nt look quite right!! Mick.
  6. One of the nicest images I have seen. Well done Alex. Mick.
  7. Hi Alan. Lost me with all the Technical stuff, but still a good image. Now where did I put that spacer!!!!!!!!! Mick.
  8. Hi Rodd. Yes I can see you have pushed the RGB to the limit, whils,t trying to keep the noise down. The noise is still slightly there in the background. So maybe as the others say, perhaps the Luminance is the way to go.Then perhaps you would,nt have to stretch the RGB as much. Its your usual exerllent image, but it could be bettered by yourself I,m sure. I,m no expert Rodd,so limited advice. Mick.
  9. I use this one from Altair Astro. https://www.altairastro.com/lightwave-0.8x-reducer.html I got an SCT to M48 threaded adapter from the USA,then unscrewed the 2 inch barrell from the reducer ,then just screw on to the adaptor. The picture does show the x0.6,but you can get the x0.8. This is where I got the USA adapter.I could,nt find one over here. https://agenaastro.com/blue-fireball-sct-female-m48-male-thread-adapter-c-04.html Mick.
  10. Whatever the comments Rodd, the image is exerllent, and your dedication really does shine through. I will wait for the next. Mick.
  11. Well Rodd, your certainly getting the comments at the mo. I usually get none or one or two,and a few likes. But I,m happy. Mick.
  12. Not meant to be foolish Rodd,i have commented on your exerllent images before, and in no way would I undermine your acheivements,as they are way above mine. Its just that you self criticise every image you do,when really they are exerllent. Don't wish to offend at all. Still friends!!!!!!!!! Mick.
  13. Rod. What is it you are trying to achieve?Do you just want to process the hell out of it untill your totally confused,or do you actually really look at your image, and think that,s a really nice interesting Nebulae. I woud suspect the first, but I may be wrong. Mick.
  14. This Reflection Nebulae can be found in Cepheus. Its an LRGB image. Using my scopes I took 4hrs of Luminance and 2hrs each of RGB. The immediate star field is very bright, and difficult to control. I think its quite an unusual Nebulae, and have,nt done it total justice, but I did,nt want to stretch it too much. Calibrated with Bias and Flat Frames. Cheers. Mick.
  15. Very nice image Francis. The broom is very well caught, and I like the colours. My only negative comment would be the background.Did you take Flats for this? Mick.
  16. I find this object a difficult one to image,so well done with this. My only and worthless criticism is a find it a touch green, and a little noisey. However a good image. Mick.
  17. I know these objects, and they are quite faint, well done with this image. Mick.
  18. Nice image and very well framed. Indeed I would be more than happy if I,d done that. Mick.
  19. Exerllent image. I would be well happy with that. Well done. Mick.
  20. Yes you will need a flattener to work with SW 66. I just use the Altair Astro Flattener, works a treat, and not too expensive. Mick.
  21. Cheers Adam. I,ll try to. Mick.
