  1. Very nice indeed. A lot going on in this image, what a great region for Narrowband. Mick.
  2. Thankyou Olly, nice of you to comment. Mick.
  3. It is Olly,i have since ditched it and just USB extension cables.Fingers crossed. Mick.
  4. Hi. Looking for something to image during a full moon in LRGB is,nt the best idea, but I settled on NGC4244 in Canes Venatici, not exactly very far from the Moon as well. I used my ED80 scope and an Atik 314L+ mono to take 12x240 secs in LRGB.Longer subs were a washout,so kept them fairly short. Calibration frames were essential especially Flats.I used Bias Frames but not Darks.I intergrated the Luminance at only 50% opacity. Processing was carried out in Photo-shop.Unfortunately my efforts at removing Gradients were less than successful. Mick.
  5. Very nice image Carole. Its unusually good, as the bright background really works here. Well done. Mick.
  6. Hi Craney. Thanks for the reply, yes sorted after a long time.It turned out they did,nt like the new powered USB hub I bought.Whats the point of these hubs if they cause these sort of faults.Another wasted night. Mick.
  7. H. Came out to-night to run my dual rig and niether of my Atik cameras are giving an image. They have both connected ok and can take an image, but when down loaded they both look just a bias frame. Yes the lens caps are removed. They cant have both gone faulty at the same time surely. I,m at a loss what to try next. Any ideas folks. Mick.
  8. From a very recent experience with this company i give them an A++ Very pleased and quick to respond. Mick.
  9. Yes i agree with all the above. That is one lovely image. Mick.
  10. You are proberbly right Peter, but the description does.nt really make this clear, which if designed for daytime viewing it should say so. Mines going back. Mick. Thanks for the comments guys. Mick.
  11. Hi. If anyone uses the above William Optics Diagonal with a refractor scope,do you find you get a bright spike either side of a bright Star. I am finding this on a new diagonal, and wondered if it was the norm. Cheers. Mick.
  12. Narrowband colours are subjective, and there is no right or wrong way to interpret them, or indeed create them.Even Hubbles are false. No with this image you have to look at the construction and the stunning amount of Nebulae and detail that Sara has achieved with this. The 3D effect is really present. 11/10 Sara. Mick.
  13. Hi Red Drawf. Follow my thread, i,m struggling too. astromick.
  14. Hi.

If the control cables are still available,i will take them.

I can do paypal if you wish.

    Cheers.

    Mick.

  15. Hi. Just like to say a few words about Bernard at Modern Astronomy.Bernard is an ace guy, really helpful, and goes that extra mile.Contacted Bernard recently enquiring about aquiring an imaging scope.Bernard pointed me in the direction of a scope he thought might be suitable, not only that but because it was a triplet lens,he even worked out the spacing to the sensor, and built the correct adaptors, and they came fitted to the flattener. Great service, and packing has to be believed.(Loads of packing material, and the box extremely well taped up). Highly recommend Modern Astronomy. Mick.
  16. Cant praise Bernard at Modern Astronomy high enough.Exceptional service. Contacted Modern Astronomy a little while ago,as I was chasing a particular adaptor.I was told by Bernie, that he could,nt supply that particular one,but no probs,he would have one made for me. I supplied him with a drawing and some details,he contacted his engineer, and a couple of weeks later it was ready for me. This really is great service,as nothing seems to be too much trouble. A++++++++++++++ Bernard and Modern Astronomy. Mick.
