  1. Hi. I took this wide field version of the Cave Nebulae,at the same time as my existing Cave image. It was taken wirh my WO 66 SD scope and a Cannon 1000D modified camera. Its about 3 hrs worth of data. I thought I would show it too, for a bit of fun. Mick.
  2. Thankyou Charl. Appreciate the time taken to comment. Mick.
  3. Hi. I had intended that this was going to be a Hubble Palette image, but the signal in the 0111 and S11 was so weak through my 12nm Astronomik filters even though they had 3hrs of 10 min subs, just would,nt have worked. In the end I just mapped the Ha to the red channel, and then had a play. After all no colour is wrong with narrowband,or so they say!!!! This colour may not be to everyone,s taste. They were taken with my usual gear, refractors and Atik ccd cameras. Calibrated with Bias and Flats as usual. Cheers. Mick.
  4. Thanks Geordie. Always can give it a go and see what turns out. Mick.
  5. Thanks for taking the time to write a comment Alan. Its always nice to get a written one. What camera have you now got? Mick.
  6. Hi. NGC7129 is a small reflection Nebulae in Cepheus. The young open cluster within the Nebulae is responsible for the illumination. To the right of this cluster to-wards the edge of the image can be see the much larger NGC 7142.Slightly out of the frame. This was imaged using the LRGB method. 12x600 secs in Luminance using an ED80 + an Atik 320E,and the RGB was taken using a WO 73 and an Atik 314L+ at 8x600 secs. Calibrated as usual. Cheers. Mick.
  7. I think that is the best bubble I have seen. Well done. Mick.
  8. Had the makings of a nice image image Paul. Better luck next time. Mick.
  9. This imaging hobby is far from easy, and a continual learning curve. Its a shame about the dew(been there done that)but you have the making of a really nice image. Stay with it and you will be soon well away. Mick.
  10. Rodd. I don't know how you sleep at night,so many worries. I just see this image for what is it,and that's exerllent. Mick.
  11. Thanks Paul. That's tough luck. These gremlins seem endless with this imaging lark. Mick.
  12. Hi. Better known as the Bubble. A popular target for imagers,as its quite high in the sky. I imaged this with my Atik cameras and an ED80 plus a WO 73 zenithstar scope. This is a Ha/RGB image, and I added the Ha to the red channel at a reduced opacity of around 50%. Approx 12x600 secs in Ha and 9x600 secs each in RGB. Calibrated with Bias and Flats. Thanks. Mick.
  13. Hi a popular target in Cassiopia, high in the sky,and away from the moon. Imaged a couple of nights ago with my dual rig. I imaged this as a Ha/RGB image, but soon realised their was hardly any green/blue in the image. I only managed to shoot 18x600 secs subs in Ha and 6x600 secs in RGB before cloud ended my session. Perhaps if I could have got a lot more in G/B I could have pulled more out,as it would have been less affected by noise. I added the Ha to the red channel but reduced the opacity to around 20%. I have kept the image with colour toned down, which I personally like. All in all a mainly Ha image. Mick.
  14. This is a cracking image,i don't know how this has been missed. Well done. Mick.
  15. Nice image indeed. Don't see many Globulars on here.
  16. Hi. I use a ED 80 with an Atik 314L+ for the Ha. For the RGB I use a WO Zenithstar 73 with an Atik 320E ccd. Cheers.
  17. Played with this for a while now,and still not happy. I,m settling for this as I cant really seem to improve it in any form. My stars seem a little elongated,so must look into this at the next outing. I have my scope fairly well loaded, although no where near max. Using two scopes in tamdem fashion,to help cut down time. Anyway it is what it is, and will move on. Cheers all. Mick.
  18. I,ll check that Alan. Thanks for the comment. Mick.
  19. HI. I imaged part of this Nebulae a couple of nights ago. It is a Ha/RGB image. I took 12x600 secs in Ha and 6x600 secs in RGB. I added the Ha to the red channel at around 45%. I calibrated with Bias and Flats but no darks. It was taken using a WO Zenithstar 73 and an Atik 314L+ for the Ha. The RGB was taken using a ED 80 and a Atik 320E ccd. Cheers all. Mick.
  20. Hi Paul. Further to my last comment,i notice you have clipped the black point in the histogram. You don't really want to do so as you are losing valuable data. Keep an eye on this as you try to darken the image. Mick.
  21. That looks a lot better Paul. Their is a nice plug-in for photo -shop call HLGV this deals with the green cast very nicely. Mick.
  22. Nice image Paul, you have captured the Nebulae nicely. The background does have a slight greenish appearance,at least on my PC. However still VG. Mick.
  23. Very nice image indeed Adrian.Love the colour especially as you have kept it low key. Also a mighty impressive star field. Mick.
