  2. Hi. I had a go at NGC 4631 otherwise known as the Whale Galaxy.Using my WO 73 scope with a focal length of 430mm its not exactly ideal for Galaxies but heyho. This is an LRGB image of 2hrs per filter giving a total time of 8hrs.Sky has been quite good to us recently. Stacked in DSS and registered in Registar.Processed in Photo-shop. Fully calibrated with Bias/Darks and Flats. Cheers. Mick.
  3. Hi Mark, very good effort for your first attempt. My first observation is the stars look badly out of focus, and that's holding it back. But the stars a nice and round,so keep on with the processing. Mick.
  4. Thanks very much, glad you liked it. Mick.
  5. Hi. Taken a couple of nights ago.I used both a WO 73 & a Altair EDF 60,both have similar Focal Ratios, and Field of view. This is an LRGB image consisting of 2hr per filter.Stacked in DSS and aligned in Registar.Processed in Photo-shop. Stars are,nt perfect but ok with me. Calibrated with Bias/Darks and Flats. Cheers. Mick.
  6. Thanks Alan. Hope your idea works out. Mick.
  7. Imaged last night with Canon 1000D DSLR.The popular M65/66 and NGC3628. This is 2hr image of 24 300 sec subs at ISO 800. Fully calibrated. Does,nt appear to have much variation of colour, but proberbly my woeful processing. Mick.
  8. Simply amazing Rodd. Nothing else needs to be said. Mick.

  12. Hi. I am trying to load EQMOD onto a windows 10 PC but it not recognising any of my virtual com ports.(6 available) It comes back Connect Port Error/Port not available. These ports appear to be working,or at least it says they are. Have downloaded the FDTI driver. Any ideas please. Mick.
  13. Hi. Although last night was clear here on the East Coast,i had some probs with my imaging gear, and could not really get going.By the time i had it sorted it was getting late, and the Moon was doing its usual thing.I decided to try and image M108 in Ursa Major even though it was not too far from the Moon.Opting for a straight RGB image as the L would have been useless,i managed to get 60mins on the three colours, before I packed in. I took 12x300 secs for each colour, but had no time for calibration frames which I usually do. Maybe the odd hot pixel in the image, but I,m too disappointed with it for so little data. Clear skies. Mick. I
  14. I,ve never quite mastered Startools, may have to dig it out again, not many Tutorials on this software. Mick.
  15. Well for all your problems Alan, still a very nice image. Mick.
  16. Thanks guys. Maybe one of my better ones,(LOL) Mick.
  17. Yes I agree about the star colour but this is a lovely image of this cluster. Mick.
  18. A really good start with this Galaxy,i hope it gives you encouragement to carry on. Mick.
  19. Hi. I had a go at the lovely edge on Galaxy NGC4565 in Coma Berenices the other nice with my ED80 and Atik 314L+ ccd. This is an LRGB image where the Luminance was given 2hrs and the RGB 1.5hrs each. The skies were fairly kind to me that night,so went for it. Fully calibrated with Bias/Flats and Darks. Processed in Photo-shop. Mick.
