  1. Hi. This is just a small part of NGC896,as its usually part of a larger mosaic. However using my 102mm Altair scope and a x0.8 reducer + my canon 1100D,this was my field of view. I used the Astronomik Ha and O111 12nm clip filters. Two hours per filter, and calibrated with bias and Darks, but no flats. I purposely did,nt over stretch this image,as the temp was at 23 degrees, and noise would have been a problem Its just simple. Cheers. Mick.
  2. Its not detecting the VCP when the USB is plugged in. I have one or two things to try. Mick.
  3. Hi Alan. I dont recall seeing this, but will have another play. Cheers. Mick.
  4. Hi. How do you allocate a com port in the Ascom Driver set up,when their are none showing in the Device Manger,or hidden Files?(Windows 10) I did run the the port find box in the set-up,but it could,nt find any ports. I have installed the FTDI driver, but am now stuck. Any help would be appreciated. Mick.
  5. I think this is up there with the best,an amazing and very well processed image. Love it. Mick.

  7. The Celestron Omni XLT 102mm or 120mm on a CG4 mount, are very good scopes and mounts. I have the 102mm,as its perfect for the CG4. https://www.widescreen-centre.co.uk/celestron-omni-xlt-120-telescope.html Mick.
  8. Well done under such bad conditions. Mick.
  9. Thanks Vlaiv Rally appreciate that. Mick.
  10. Welcome to the club, and a nice image indeed. Mick.
  11. Just wanted to try my new(well new to me)Canon 1100D. Along with my trying out the software APT,which has given me problems, but may now be sorted thats to the forum. There has been no clear skies here on the East Coast,so not really got going at all. However The Metoffice indicated a two hour window the other night,so i went for it.In the end the forecast was optimistic, and only managed 30mins of data on M31. I think the Dithering has had an effect,as the image looks fairly smooth for such a short time.No calibration frames were taken. I would like at lease 3hrs on this. Mick.
  12. There,s nothing wrong with that Adam.Nicely processed. Mick.
  13. Yeah,i realise this,it was just a rant, but boy can you get headaches.😩😩 Thanks for your reply. Mick.
  14. Hi Hugh. I think you may have hit the nail on the head,i had forgotten the reducer. Many thanks, will try this later and see how it goes. Mick.
  15. Hi Julian. Its Astrophotography Tool and its Point craft Plate Solving.(I do have a thread indicating this problem.) It just wont solve, even though i believe i have gone through the correct steps. I have tried loads of things to solve this, but must just be missing some vital step. I followed the exerllent Tutorial at the begining of this section, and all went well,or so i thought. Cheers. Mick.
  16. Just a rant. I,m fed up with buying software that does,nt work straight out of the box. Having spent nearly two days trying to get the dam thing working properly, and still no nearer. We are,nt all computer geniuses, and often the help files are rubbish,or written for a higher intelligence. It nearly always ends up asking for help from this great forum, which is counter productive to buying the dam thing. Please if you conjour up a programme, that we have to pay for(and i,m not against this of course)remember their are still some dinonosaurs out there, who still have difficulty finding the computer on button.😂 Rant over, now back to this blessed problem(sorry above). Mick.
