  1. That is a rather special image Richard. Really nice. Mick.
  2. Cheeers for the comment, appreciate it. I often wonder what these Nebulae would look like close up,i do not think they would be awash with colour,as we seem to think, as we process images. Mick.
  3. Hi. Yes thanks for the recommendation,i will try it out. Appreciate your reply. Mick.
  4. I took this last night,in pretty windy conditions, often fearful of my scope (lol) Located in Auriga, its the emission Nebulae IC405. This is 3hrs of 5 minute subs using a Canon 1100D modded camera. The scope is a 102mm APO. Calibrated with darks and Flats. A Ha filter was also used. I,m sure their is more Nebulosity to pull out of this.but uncertain of the best way to tackle it without effecting the image overall. Cheers. Mick.
  5. Nice image,nice scope,nice everything Carole. Mick.
  6. Hi. Taken last night with my 102ED and Atik 314L+ ccd. This is known as NGC1514 in Taurus, also known as the crystal ball nebulae. This is quite nice Planetary Nebulae. I took 12x600 secs Luminance. 9x575 secs in Red. 9x575 secs in Green. 9x650 secs in Blue. Calibrated with Bias/Darks and Flats. Little processing was done in Photo-shop. Cheers. Mick.
  7. Thanks for that,i will definately check this. Thanks for the reply. Mick.
  8. Hi. Recently when my mount has crossed the Meridan, and i have to reset to guide on the East side, the scope now virtually verticle,i,m encountering problems. Using APT i goto my object which it does, and as i say the scope is now pointing vericle,i then try to plate solve, which again it does ok with Blind solve. When i click on GOTO ++ the scope slews but doesnt indicate it settles,it just changes to C and then takes an image.Instead of points i get slight streaks,as if the scope is still moving. I hit GOTO++ again, and i get a notice Please engage Tracking!!!!!!!!!,which it should already be doing. If i abandon and instruct the scope to return to its home position, nothing happens for about 20secs,as if its struggling ,then suddenly it does return. I,ve only got about 8Kg of weight on the EQ6,so well within its limit. I dont know if its a mount problem or a APT. iI should add that when the scope is at a more reasonable angle,it all works ok. It does indicate a mount problem. Any ideas. Hopefully Mick.
  9. Hi. This image of M33 was taken with my ED 102 scope and a Canon 1100D.It is the the sum of approx 2.5 hrs with 420 sec exposures at ISO 400. I did try and get some Ha with my clip Filter, but was.nt too sucessful as hazy high cloud created a bit too much noise,so i did,nt get many exposures. I have cakibrated with Bias/Darks and Flats. I may try for the Ha again if good conditions arise. Mick.
  10. Thankyou kind people for liking it. But it was just a quick way to get colour. But its not something i will do again,as i,m not sure about it myself.😂😂 Mick.
  11. Hi. This is a 2hr image of the Californian Nebulae in Perseus. It was taken with a Canon 1100D + 12nm Ha clip filter. Conditions were not bad,but perodic clouds were a bother. My intention was and maybe still is to take an RGB image and merge with the Ha. Anyway, cloud stopped play,so could,nt get the RGB.My plan was to get it another night. In photo-shop i have some actions, and one was to colour the Ha image. No No i cant do that its cheating.Anyway i did. What do you think of the result.Obviously the stars are all white and dont show any colour. I think i will opt for the RGB when i can get it. I can see the purists rolling over now!!!!!! Mick.
  12. What a strange looking object, but beautifully done. Mick.
  13. Hi. Your first image is really nice, the details sharp, and i suspect there is more to be extracted from it,with careful processing. The second one looks a tad out of Focus, and i think it shows the noise a bit more, however nice result. Mick.
  14. Great images Chris.I would imagine difficult condtions under the Darlington skies. Mick.
  15. Indeed a lovely image and a great write up.One of the best Clusters up there. Mick.
  16. Thanks Dave. Yep their,s a few up there. Mick.
  17. Thats an interesting set of colours.Quite striking to the eye. Mick.
  18. A nice set of images indeed, and top marks for staying power. Always nice to see Orion again. Mick.
  19. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the comments, and the likes. Your image Goran is really impressive. Mick.
  20. Hi. Interesting little Nebulae in Perseus, with a distinct comet shaped centre. This was taken with a 102ed at F6 and a Atik 314l+ mono ccd. It consists of 2hrs apiece in both Ha and O111. The centre is quite bright and really dominates its surroundings. I think i have a slight issue with guiding,as the stars are slightly off round. Cheers. Mick.
  21. Another really good result Adam. I,ve never been too pleased with my starless images, the more i stretch it seems to degrade rapidly. Hey but thats me. M.
