  1. Hi Martin. Thanks for all this.I have managed to pull some colour out of it as in my image below. I enclose a stacked 16bit file straight from DSS in Tiff format. Mick. M81a.tif
  2. Hi. I still can get no colour out of this camera. I have set all the parameters in DSS,but still all i get is grey(see attached image.)Set thr debayer to RGGB I just dont understand what is going on.I,m on th verge of returning this camera. Their is not a hint of red in M82 Can someone who uses this DSS software help. I have set the parameters in APT to comply with Geeklees asvice above, but still grey. The image does,nt come out Green though. Mick.
  3. Hi. Have just taken my first image with this camera, and am bitterly disapointed. My first go at OSC other than DSLR. I am using APT for image aquisition at Unity Gain and set at RGGB.All the images are downloading as bright GREEN.Is this normal. I use Deepsky Stacker for stacking and i set to RGGB in the set up.In photoshop i balance the colours, apply a stretch, but all the stars and Galaxies are just yellow,no variation of colours. I must be doing something wrong here. I enclose the final image. Any help please. Mick.
  4. Hi. Two good, nights on this object allowed me to get some half decent subs. Taken with my ED 102mm scope and Atik 314L+ ccd. Two hrs each in 600 sec exposures were taken.Fairly late start for each as the daylight hrs are now getting longer.Calibration was applied during the stacking process. All processing was done in Photo-shop. Mick.
  5. This is a lovely edge on spiral Galaxy also known as the needle Galaxy.(NGC4565) This was taken using my ED102 and Atik 314L+ ccd. Made up of 3hrs of Luminance using 600 secs exposure. The RGB consisted of 1.5hrs each of 550 secs. Calibration applied, and all processing was done in photo-shop. Mick.
  6. Thanks Adam. I was on the limit with this one. Your M63 is full of detail, really nice capture.
  7. Cheers. Is there a right way up in space? Nothing wrong with your image at all, very good for sucha short intergration time. Mick.
  8. I dont know what happened to the text in my post.😅
  9. Its a cracking Galaxy M104,but i dont usually image it due to its low position, and often caught in the sky glow. This is an LRGB image taken with my ED102mm scope. The Lum was for 2hrs in 450 sec subs, and the RGB was 1hr each in 300 secs each.Fully calibrated, and processed in Photo-shop. The image was taken last night/early hrs this morning. Cheers. Mick.
  10. Thanks for the comment.I can of like the stars though. Wow eight hours on one image, bet it was good though. Mick.
  11. Hi. Located in Ursa Major is a good face on spiral Galaxy NFC3184,but i found it difficult to process due to the very bright stars nearby. Immaged with my usual set-up. Consists of 12x600 secs for the Lum. I took 9x300 secs each for the RGB. Stretching the Galaxy really effected the stars too much,so left it faint.I did try and copy the background to a new layer, but it did,nt seem to work too well,so i gave up. I did calibratea as well. Mick.
  12. Thats a lot of fluff Adrian. Great capture. Mick.
  13. Cheers Steve. Yes it must be some place, interestingly though no stars will collide during this upheavle. Mick.
  14. Hi. An interesting Galaxy in Canes Venatici,it forms a pairing with the Galaxy NGC 4485.These two Galaxies are in the process of merging. Did,nt get long on these due to weather(whats new).It is an LRGB composite,of about 1.5 hrs for each filter.I used two scopes to obtain the data. Calibrated with bias daks and flats. Processed in Photo-shop. Mick.
  15. Oops. Oh well,i suppose the Esprit has got a lens.🤣🤣
  16. Very colourful Carole,a treat for the eye. That lens is certainly delivering. Mick.
  17. I,m sure it will look amazing.Cant wait to see it. Thanks for the comment. Mick.
  18. Hi. Last night was the first really clear night for sometime here on the Coast.I opted for the lovely Galaxy M101 in Ursa Major,as it was nice and high in the sky. Using my dual rig i took LRGB & Ha images. The L & Ha were taken with an Altair Astro 102mm AT f7 using an Atik 314L+ mono ccd. 1.5hrs each The RGB were taken with my WO Zenithstar 61 F5.9 an an Atik 314E. 1hr each. Fully calibrated using Bias,Darks and Flats. Processed in Photo-shop. Cheers. Mick.
  19. Very nice too. I too like the wide field shot + one or two other galaxies in there as well. Mick.
  20. Thankyou Martin,i appreciate that.Yes i tend to have a look at Astronomy tools to see what sort of works, and just go with what you have. Mick.
  21. Hi. I took this image over two nights using my dual rig.Consisting of an Altair 102 F7 with a 0.8 Reducer, and a Atik 314E ccd mono camera. The second scope is a WO Zenithstar 61 with a very old Atik 16IC mono ccd camera. I took the Lumiance with the 102mm scope with a total of 4hrs in 300 sec subs. The R and B subs were a total of 2hrs each with 300 sec subs.I synthesized the Green.I calibrated wit Flats and Bias, but no Darks. Minimal processing in Photo-Shop. Cheers. Mick.
  22. Cant really add much Andy, but well done its a beautiful image. Mick.
  23. Nice capture for a dob.It might be a tad out of focus, unless its just halos around the stars.but still very nice. Mick.
