  1. The beautiful smokey brown colour of the dust is something else. Sure it doesn’t have the same punch as a NB image but it’s quality lies in the subtleties, and I really like it.
  2. It was 5.4um. Good job on the processing. Blue was weak enough, focus wasn’t good. I do prefer M31 rotated 180 degrees, but for most objects I agree it’s personal preference.
  3. I’m setting up a manual 5 position filter wheel for planetary imaging. Going to buy Baader LRGB. Any recommendations for position 5?
  4. The deepskydad AF3 with bracket is also a decent option for the ED80. https://deepskydad.com/autofocuser3 I use the same focuser as Merlin above connected directly to the focuser shaft as I don’t have the 10:1 focuser.
  5. I’ve only seen this in a widefield image, so a real treat to see it close up! Wonderful job Steve, do like the colour image and the soft tones.
  6. That’s a great rendition. I have a few hours on this somewhere in Ha but never took it any further. Might have another go now.
  7. That’s really very very nice! Plenty of detail and colour and well processed.
  8. Genuine question. can I ask how you did that. Wouldn’t mind a go.
  9. Congratulations everyone!! When I first saw spongeys entry I thought that would be the winner. And it was ! Well deserved indeed.
  10. It really is a fantastic image. Well done.
  11. Or just buy a fast newt and get this as a standard feature 😂😂
  12. There is nothing wrong with that! I'm using normal NB filters with my Epsilon, and it seems ok so far, but I would like to buy a highspeed Ha filter and do a side by side comparison.
  13. I copied your red channel, and opened a new RGB document in PS. I pasted this red image into the red channel and repeat for the green and blue, and this appeared
  14. Very nice and under difficult conditions 👍
  15. @Adam J you’ll need a crane for one like this 😉
  16. Thanks! I'm not using that software, and hoping to correct it at source
  17. Brilliant! I've since adjusted the spacing for my ED80 and Tak, so looking forward to improving on star shapes.
  18. Thanks for that @billhinge I should have posted my own effort:
  19. No it wouldn’t. It sounds like the system didn’t realise you changed the brightness of the panel and just went with the original 1/500.
  20. Nifty! As long as you don’t mind getting out of bed to swop over filters!
  21. Ah, so how do you use a FW and mono camera?
  22. Whilst checking the spot diagrams for the Epsilon I came across this: a new epsilon e160ed is being released 😮 https://www.takahashiamerica.com/blogs/product-announcements/takahashi-announces-the-epsilon-e-160ed-reflector/
  23. AV mode should work! I’ve used it on my 1000d with APT too, and never failed to get histogram centres. Is the exposure +\- setting turned down a stop or two?
  24. Histogram without Tshirt is just about ok - you ideally want the histogram peaks centred But with T shirt is underexposed:
