  1. Ok, needing some help or advice here. Is it possible to use the output from a PC running an EEVA camera, to send that as a signal via via the BNC connector/SDI, to an existing set up of multiple screens? If so what parts do I need? Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi John, thanks! I calibrated the data in APP. I dunno, I didnt take an Ha data, but I can see a few red spots in the image. I didnt intentionally try to emphasise the red but I guess that could be easily addressed.
  3. This will be used for live viewing / EEVA, not processing in the conventional manner, so it would need to work as is. Could anyone who owns one check if it does in fact bin properly at 3x3 please 🙏
  4. Thanks Goran for the informative answer. I was anticipating binning it at 3x3 or 4x4, with the 0.67x reducer, giving a reasonable 1.22 - 1.63”/px, and still a decent enough image size?
  5. Thanks Dave. What this is saying is that I can extend the backfocus length to more than the 85mm specified optimal distance and still achieve good results. The backfocus of the 2600MC is 17.5mm. Am I correct that I could add a couple of 35mm M48 extensions tubes https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/rvo-m48-extension-tubes-various-lengths-available.html between the reducer and the camera, and that would give me 87.5mm backfocus which should work well. I've dropped FLO a message there and a few questions.
  6. Thanks Dave for the reply! You really have tried a lot of stuff The aim is to undertake live viewing/stacking of images, rather than proper deep sky imaging. The camera should come with a 2" nosepiece, and this would fit into the baader clicklock. What spacing is needed? I was considering a FR too and I've been getting solid advice from Vlad @vlaiv on this.
  7. I have access to one of these telescopes, and I'm trying to sort out a camera for it. The scope comes with a 1.25" adapter for eyepieces, but what is needed to connect a camera directly to it? Specifically I am looking to connect the ZWO 2600MC to it, which needs a 2" adapter? I've little experience with an SCT, but hoping to become a lot more familiar with it. Any pointers welcome, no matter how simple it may seem. https://www.meade.com/lx600-acf-14-f-8.html
  8. Really beautifil image, and if you hadnt explained the orange dust on the right hand side I would have assumed some form of artefact....I'm about 1 second away now from removing my CCD and attaching my Nikon 🤣
  9. Thanks. Also like you are not getting many clear nights. It was very wet on Sunday, but with forecast was to clear up in the evening. I sat up until 12 until the sky finally cleared, and with the two scopes running, 4 hours in each generates enough data to get a reasonable finished image.
  10. Thanks Ciaran for the advice, I've made the changes you have suggested. 1) I see that now border around the image now, the colour data is at 520mm and the lum at 500mm - it is now rotated and I removed the 'lum only' portion 2) I have adjusted 'colour balance' to reduce the magenta tint 3) I have tried to reduce the stars more - it didnt look quite right so i blended it in at about 50% opacity. 4) Not sure how to approach this one, but have tried using a high pass filter (at 3.5) on a duplicate layer (set to soft light), then blended in using a layer mask. It would probably benefit from a more sympathetic approach but it is also only 8 hours of data, so decent enough for what it is I suppose. Adam.
  11. One from Sunday night, 23rd August. L=282 minutes RGB=100 mins / 100 mins / 96 minutes I'm not sure if the colours are right, and the centre needs a little work. Captured with SGPro, processed with APP and PS. Thanks for looking Adam.
  12. I do find it can quite complicated having a dual ring, and if you pop the blue in another scope it can become a nightmare to keep track - just my experience! I’ve now added a third CCD and lens so have now labelled everything to keep tabs. In my set up I have one scope taking luminance and the other RGB. Or one taking ha and the other oiii. I have all seven filters in each EFW so it’s a bit of a waste really. But they are bought now and arent eating much grass so I can leave them for the future. Don’t cut corners on your second scope is my opinion, wait for the triplet.
  13. Astonishing image of the squid!!
  14. AstroPixel Processor https://www.astropixelprocessor.com/ Can you attach the two stacks here of each side and I'll stick them through for you now.
  15. Hi Can you attached the stacked image here to have a look at it? Thanks
  16. Very nice images, I particularly like Saturn.
  17. Hi Steve I posted the DC-201 back this evening. It was refurbished by QHY, as I asked this prior to purchase, since it was only £10 cheaper than a new one but was in stock. (New ones out of stock for 2 weeks). I assumed a QHY refurbished unit was essentially a brand new item so the saving of a tenner was ok. The vendor has confirmed they plugged it in and tested it and it was working fine immediately prior to postage, and finds it weird that it now isnt working. I was a little surprised to find superglue and tape stuck to the bottom of it, as I had assumed that QHY would have replaced the bottom part of the casing when refurbing it. But sure, in a couple of weeks I'll have a new one fingers crossed.
  18. You implied it was going to extremely heavy, and I know based on actual hands-on experience, that it’s an easily manageable weight that 2 people can manoeuvre. And thus there is no need to be worried about using 8mm steel.
  19. Are you looking for image processing software or image capture software?
  20. Just to expand on this - I have not long fitted my pier, it’s made from ordinary steel - 11mm schedule 80 pipe and 10mm base and 8mm fins. Total height was 1.2m The guy who made it lifted it onto the trailer himself, drove round here and the two of us carried it 50m, up some stairs and into my dome. The pipe weighed 51kg and the total weight was 65kg. That’s the weight of a small adult. No cranes needed 👍🏼
  21. Mine is bolted to concrete. Is this an option for you? It’s custom made, cheaper then off the shelf. Can you find a local welder to knock one up for you?
  22. 👍🏼 I planned on this too, but the local steel place had a 4ft off-cut of schedule 80 so I used this instead. With a hole cut at the bottom I can feed wires through it too, and it’s sturdy
