  1. Apologies John, I'm sure you are familiar with the movement of the stars around polaris.
  2. I've had this happen a few times with my EQ6, to no ill effects. It's moving at sidereal rate. I wouldnt fancy doing it when slewing at full speed.
  3. That's fab Dave. I hope someday to get an image like this. I have my Nikon now to try it out, but my shortest lens if 28mm
  4. Hi John, the closer you are to the pole the less the stars appear to move on the arc of a circle for a given period of time.
  5. Nowt wrong with that! Better than my attempt (I didnt get my scope out 😂)
  6. I love the ring, a beauty, well done.
  7. Beautiful Danny. Can you tell me a bit about the Tokina lens?
  8. Look forward to your results with the 10”. I did dabble with a 300PDS but it proved just too much and I sold it on.
  9. Very nice. Mine is the old blue tube 250px.
  10. I really like the focal length but it’s a lot more demanding than my small refractor. What did you get?
  11. It's somewhat a novelty having a decent focal length and a fast scope. Whilst trying to get my mount adjusted following the belt mod, I grabbed some data of M106, M64 and M51. Tracking was poor in most of the subs, but APP done a great job of hiding it to my eye. M106 was going better when my secondary fogged up 1 hour into the run. Luminance filter, ATIK 383L+, on an EQ6, using SW250px scope. M64 = 1 x 300s M51 = 4 x 150s M106 = 25 x 150s Thanks for looking Adam.
  12. Ps you mask is great. I once made a cardboard one for my 10” scope. It worked a treat
  13. I really like your posts. This is incredible for such short exposures and a DSLR.
  14. A masterpiece sums it up. You can tell a lot of work went into that.
  15. Yes that is fantastic. Great job.
  16. What Mark said above. Looks like the red channel could be nudged up 2 or three pxiels.
  17. I dont know much about the ASI1600 but that looks pretty good indeed. The red filaments are really showing in the Cigar. If I may say, the red channel doesnt seem to be lined up quite right.
  18. Hi Dave I image from Bortle 4 - when I used my DSLR I found a LPF really helped. I'm using a mono CCD now and the EOS clip filter does not fit. I havent bothered to replace it, and am just using a lum filter. It might be too early to say as I'm still getting the ropes, but I've not noticed a requirement for it.
  19. That’s s great view Gina. The blue streak ?meteor?
