    Great night last night it was the first since March! Using 28x110mm Helios binoculars on my home brew fork mount with encoders & Nexus II was able to grab multiple DSO’s M2, NGC 6934, NGC869, M15, M71, M27 , M56, M57, M92, M13 M81, M82, M1, M37 & Veil Nebular with OIII filter. Not bad for Bortle 6 skies, am all fired up for this winter. These out of the way it’s time to find something more difficult. Cheers Guy

      i enjoyed the views better than my 115mm frac . The colour collection was very good and to be honest the scope was the right size ... i swapped it out for a horizon ED 60 which was nice but i never got round to using it for photography

      Gave up imaging 4 years ago, sold my kit and bought a new motorbike :)  to many cloudy nights on the west coast ( Lancashire ) The Irish sea sends clouds over whenever the air pressure drops, like every night, thanks for the heads up, you’ve been very helpful.

    Congratulations on buying some fine BT (Binocular-Telescope). I see you have a SkyTee 2, a sturdy L bracket would complement these nicely, I can't tell you how many times I’ve added these to my shopping cart only to find the tumble dryers packed in or the car needed new tyres etc. 😂

    My 28x110 bins pick Saturn out nicely they are sharp enough to see the gap between the disc and the rings, they do not seperate any ring divisions. They can also pick out Jupiter & Mars nicely too. The only drawback is they need a very big heavy duty mount, if you want to see Saturn and other planets sharply and in colour I would look at a Maksutov 102 or 127 and bigger. A Maksutov 102 will sit nicely onto of a strurdy camera tripod with fluid head.

    I as out last night under bortle 6 sky, nice views during clear seeing of the Crab Nebula. My 28×110 is mounted on a heavy duty self made fork mount + encoders on top of a Manfrotto 161MK2 , Nexus II helps find tiny targets and faint galaxies, this pixel 6 image was taken hand held in darkness 👍😁

    I have the HR28x110 and decided against selling them a while back, I have a home build P mount which is essential for your viewing comfort. I also have a very large fork mount with encoders which I use up to around 60-70 degrees.     Nikon have been making wide angle Aspherical lenses for decades, they are cheaper due to the special plastics been able to form over the same tooling over and over again.

    18mm Starguider recently and other stuff in the past, 100% genuine company, they were the first to introduce this eyepiece to UK if I remember correctly, as what happens others have jumped on the wagon and pinched some of his crumbs.

    My Orion Optics VX6 did that, after a few heated emails with John @ OO about them collecting not me sending it back that agreed, they sent a replacement scope back with the same mirror figure report! err no, pick it up again.. 🙄

    My Skymax 127 @ 18mm does not show Mars,Jupiter or Saturn better than my 130 reflector @ 8mm , pushing the Skymax past 10mm degrades the view, both are well collimated BTW. Cool down is superior on the reflector whilst the Skymax sits nicely on my camera tripod with video head making it easier to lift from a cool garage and view between the clouds. You have a small Dob thats very portable, If I was you I'd spend the money on a second hand fancy planetary eyepiece for your reflector..
