  1. Good effort! I'm assuming you heavily cropped this image, might be worth not doing it with this scope and camera combination, wide field galaxies ( use the 'rule of thirds' ) look fantastic.
  2. Been thinking about buying the refractor but 180 quid for an app and a mirror, wish they hand-offered a kit version.
  3. Selling my APM 107 triplet when I packed up imaging, I've started a savings fund for a Takahashi FC-100 which cost less to replace but I'm expecting the views to be as good or better.
  4. I'm in bortle 6 according to the 'clear outside' app. I'm thinking about OIII & LP visual filters and want to ask if you have a favourite particular filter. Thanks ...
  5. No harm in asking in an email, might have to send your focuser just to be belt and braces..
  6. Get your local engineering shop to make one, or email https://moonrakertelescopes.co.uk/contact.html and ask to make an adapter.
  7. There are loads of galaxies not been solved. Perhaps some settings need adjusting? haven't used it for 8+ years.
  8. The problem with long scopes on these mounts is they bounce with the wind, fitting eyepieces and focusing, I think that leverage puts a huge strain on the worm gears and their brackets. better a skytee or AZ75/100 IMHO
  9. Last night we were rarely blessed on the Lancashire coast, I had 4 hours of clear sky the only reason to stop was work today. NGC 4565 Needle Galaxy - fantastic !!! M51, M3, M53, M37,M51, M81 & M82 Leo Triplet a Leo Procyon NGC 2392
  10. Unloading containers is like using expanding foam... it just keeps coming.
  11. Looks like spacing is wrong to me, not the scope or the flattener, smaller stars come from better optics.
  12. It will have to be an online photo print service, maybe crop the image in photoshop to A3...
  13. That has a 3D look, its fantastic!
  14. @ONIKKINEN superb for such a small amount of captured data.
  15. @wimvb Thats fantastic, would look great in a frame on the wall.
  16. Blimey @Mr Spock that sounds like a hell of a bump 🤕
  17. Hi Chrissy The Nexstar 130slt is very capable of some great views.. Welcome
  18. Maybe a short Vixen dovetail and get your local engineering shop to drill and tap it to your chosen counterweight bar? How's the pointing accuracy of the mount anyway?
  19. Better Call Saul - superb! I wonder what the difference between FC-76DCU & ED80 Pro would be ?
  20. If you have the funds and the space get a 10, if it's pushing the budget and you haven't started collection eyepieces ( Good ones) get the 8, and an 8 with excellent eyepieces will be more satisfying than a 10 with mediocre ones. I have a 12" solid tube dob, it's massive and the base makes moving about in our garage where it has to live a pain, I built barrow handles with wheels at each end, and moving it into the garden is no problem however it's just the space it occupies when not being used when you open the garage door immediately the proverbial Elephants in the room, my wife hates it 😁
  21. Found a great seller on eBay, made an aperture mask for my Bresser 127 L, while by no means does not show terrible amounts of CA Jupiter does get spoiled a wee bit, so for less than a pint of draught lager I thought worth a punt, I have to say it's very well made, shame matt black wasn't available so I'll flock it.
  22. Thank you Mike , I've added these drawings to my phone for so I don't need to find the OP during obs 👍
