  1. Just wondering how you got on with the Sabre and that super b looking red frac? Did the long focal length get tiring constantly pushing at high mag?
  2. After a few years absence from Imaging I've returned to the fold with a new observing passion, naturally I wasn't going to keep life so simple and part of the passion is exploring possible alternatives. I've never been excited about learning the sky via a planisphere so decided on making my own mount having seen the fabulous Rowan Az mount and APM binoculars at the IAS earlier this year. It's a poor mans attempt you could say, but it's all mine.
  3. Brilliant result and very well done, I piggybacked mine on top of my APM 107 gathering wide fields via a Samyang 135 /Atik 383 I really must process the thousands of hours of data, I guess I found the challenge better than the reward.. I use binoculars exclusively, sold all my kit, but just bought a Nexus II kit with 10k encoders plus video fluid head.. 😁
  4. Agreed, $800 for $200 worth of materials you can gather on Ebay, I think I'll make one and catalogue the cost.
  5. Go slowly measure 3 times
  6. In for a penny... Orbit Wedge no longer in production.
  7. There are none, you will find more photos of this here.. https://pbase.com/walshy/my_observatory&page=all Cheers Guy

Am OK mate hope you are too, been renovating the house and garden and the weather's been terrible for the last 12 months, although not been a bad spring, the PC in the OBS refuses to boot so that's put an end to this month's potential photon harvest ;)

  15. For what is worth I had this issue a couple of months ago, it was backlash in DEC, I can see some peeps thinking that a 're grease' cured it, but in fact its probably because the dec lash was fixed on the re assembly. My penny worth...
