    Hello :)

    A warm welcome to SGL
  3. Anything bigger heavier especially c8 you will need a bigger mount I.e HEQ5 or a EQ6 I use a Meade LXD55 127 emc (5") on my EQ5 and that is probably the maximum it can take.
  4. Bought some 4mm flat rubber put that in the gap and epoxyed the bits together seems like a good job great fit on the scope as well tight.
  5. Brilliant Nick, cloudy here but I am going to add them to my lists thank you for posting.
  6. Brilliant thank you for that I now know my scope was made 11 years ago and was 1 of the first hundred.
  7. Perhaps I am being a bit naïve but I saw a Tal 100rs for sale with a sticker saying No 1391 11 is this a manufacturing number as mine says No 0097 10

    Hi SGL!

    A warm welcome to SGL
  9. Cheers Doug, I do have a homemade shield made by the previous owner which works very well but having the proper one it would be nice to fix it and put it on plus if I come to sell it it will have the correct dew shield on. Paul
  10. I thank you all however in the original phone call it was pointed out to me that I had done it fitting it I did not but even quoting consumer protection will fall on deaf ears here. It is going to be my word against them so I have cut my loses and looking at ways I can rectify it. I thought of a ring of something measuring 115mm in diameter and epoxy only trouble is finding something with a 115mm diameter cheap and can easily be cut down to maybe a 20mm length. But if anyone has any other ideas I am all ears thank you.
  11. I have had this for over 12 months it only jogged my memory when I saw F15Rules was selling his Tal 100rs so I have no chance of returning or being refunded now.
  12. Hello my fellow SGLer's I purchased my Tal 100rs from a fellow SGLer who had made a dew shield which works pretty well but I wanted a proper one. I saw one on a well known retailer which I will not name who had one for sale I bought it only to find the front cover was missing funnily enough the retailer had that and sold it me separately so the dew shield was left in the box until the front cover turned up. When I got it out to put on the scope I noticed it wasn't straight tried to straighten it but something was wrong took it off and found the inside was cracked, a phone call later in which I was told it was in a sale and no chance of a return or refund I'm left with it. Now here is the part I would like help with in the vast knowledge of this forum has someone got any ideas of how to go about fixing this, it is under tension so just springs back I did try gorilla glue that did not work so hoping one of you kind people can think of a better way please.
  13. A great article in AN this month about best eyepieces for different scopes.
  14. Cracking pictures and I totally agree I am only visual but I have not had a dozen nights out. Only had two this year I have never known the weather to be this bad.
  15. Brilliant Nick forecast was clear here until 1am waiting for darkness clouds soon hung around Leo was straight in front of me at 8pm at 9pm could not see it, looking straight up I could see stars but lower down was gone. Went out with binoculars everything was hazy really disappointed not getting out hopefully this weather will change. M51 from home wow I have never seen that from here well done.
  16. With all this Covid and seeing other camps not allowing tents I was mistaken, however it must of stuck in my mind that Spring 2020 Party had no tents due to inclement weather I must of confused the two.
  17. With covid restrictions as per last year the camp was only for self contained camping i.e caravans and campervans I was asking is this still going to be the rules, I was going to book last year until I saw that no tents were allowed because of covid restrictions. Thank you for your reply in these uncertain times I will wait for another opportunity when I know as best as possible everything will be back to normal, it would be nice to get there again I had a brilliant time last time Saturday night being exceptional.
  18. Will this be open to everyone not just camper an or caravan guests please.
  19. No I have not thanks for the suggestion I'm close to Junction 7 M62 so on the other side of St.Helens but its worth a look.
  20. If I was to go to Faulksy`s site probably take me between 1.5-2hrs, as I live in St.Helens my nearest would no doubt be in Wales somewhere but I haven't found a site I could regularly go to I am open to suggestions.
  21.
