  4. Great report try M92 next time also in Hercules it is much missed because of the great cluster but is a cracking cluster in its own right.
  5. Some cracking objects there many I will never see but your description brings them to life thank you. Paul
  6. Im just looking for a decent vintage Japanese pair around 7x50 10x50 or 12x50 I have bought a couple of pair and sent them back (out of collimation) and had my eye on some tecnar swift ones but read they were at the bottom end of swift range and not that good even though they looked perfect. This is why I asked on here I dont know much about the different ones obviously I dont want top of the range ones far too expensive but mid range good glass nice views. I have a pair of revolution 10x42 and they are brilliant bought a pair of Olympus 10x50 DPS1 and I am not really that happy with them.
  7. I am trying to pick up a pair of preferably Japanese made vintage binoculars for not so much money £30 or less if possible. Can you seasoned binocular users cast your eyes over these and let me know what you think. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194222386158?_trksid=p11011.c100360.m3755&_trkparms=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2F194222386158%3F_trkparms%3Daid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150112100634%26meid%3D30f9f64ae8484ff69c0a5615c6664ab8%26pid%3D100360%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D8%26b%3D1%26sd%3D154513156468%26itm%3D194222386158%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D11011%26algv%3DDefaultOrganic&_trksid=p11011.c100360.m3755&mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11011.m3755.l2648&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=d27a4880739b4055afb12f5dd7b1d93f&bu=44224039772&exe=98324&ext=231945&logid=nqt%3DAAAAEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIAAQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgAAAAACAgAAAAAAACAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIAAAAAABIA**%26nqc%3DAAAAEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIAAQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgAAAAACAgAAAAAAACAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIAAAAAABIA**%26mdbreftime%3D1625120397249%26es%3D3%26ec%3D1&osub=-1~1&crd=20210630233209&segname=11011&sojTags=ch%3Dch%2Cbu%3Dbu%2Cnqt%3Dnqt%2Cnqc%3Dnqc%2Cmdbreftime%3Dmdbreftime%2Ces%3Des%2Cec%3Dec%2Cexe%3Dexe%2Cext%3Dext%2Cexe%3Dexe%2Cext%3Dext%2Cosub%3Dosub%2Ccrd%3Dcrd%2Csegname%3Dsegname%2Cchnl%3Dmkcid https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133803711286?_trksid=p11011.c100360.m3755&_trksid=p11011.c100360.m3755&_trkparms=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2F133803711286%3F_trkparms%3Daid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150112100634%26meid%3D30f9f64ae8484ff69c0a5615c6664ab8%26pid%3D100360%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D8%26b%3D1%26sd%3D154513156468%26itm%3D133803711286%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D11011%26algv%3DDefaultOrganic&ul_noapp=true https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154507658232?hash=item23f95fc3f8:g:AdEAAOSwkspgyyGq https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255029740194?hash=item3b60f502a2:g:gZEAAOSwdv9fT9nT Thank you Paul

  10. Cheers John both coming on same day thanks a lot really appreciate it. Paul
  11. Can I ask where you got the 1mm carbon fibre from please. Paul
  12. Just sent for one of these as I have a new to me Celestron/helios 102 refractor I was given at the weekend.
  13. Did you cut the carbon fibre and flocking to the very edge or wrap over? Thanks Paul
  14. I have a pair of Jessops 10 x 50 roof prism binoculars like that not worth having them sent away if you could find out how he reset the diotre I could have a go with these thanks.
  15. I have several double star lists including 160 best doubles and many more if anyone would like some please pm me.
  16. I have had mine for about 6 years would not part with them and the 15mm was voted best in the bunch in "Sky At Night Magazine"
  17. Love that tripod and can I ask how do you like the 150 evostar 150ED I read it had a few teething problems when it came out. Paul
  18. Thank you Magnus I really appreciate your sentiments I read a lot of peoples reports and get inspiration from them, I am so glad that mine are doing the same. On that note I must thank my good friend Nick (cotterless45) without whom I would not be doing this hobby I was struggling when I started 10 years ago from home I could not find enough objects to keep going. I had never seen M81 and M82 and the double cluster Nick showed me how. He took me under his wing so to speak encouraged me to get a refractor and go for double and multiple stars which even from light polluted skies you can see and my whole outlook changed now when I am up to it I get out as much as I can and with the help of my sons who set up and put away my kit I can do these nights. Paul
  19. I love my BST starguider 8mm really punches above its weight, may be better going to your local astronomical society if they are doing in person events and trying a couple of the eyepieces, its a very emotive choice eyepieces what's good for one person isnt good for another. I bought a Baader hyperion I could not get on with it, I got a 6mm "TMB" and I love it I have a mixture of eyepieces "Meade Japan" , Televue plossl 11mm I did have a 20mm but sold that , Vixen, BST Starguiders 25,15,8mm and two "TMB"s all get used for different objects especially double and multiple stars and I have a Tal x2 Barlow, I caught Saturn a couple of nights ago low in the 8mm BST it looked stunning I have seen the cassini division with it in better position and seeing. So to the point get the eyepiece that you will get on with and suitable to your needs I hope this helps.
  20. Got this from a very good friend for free not in the post but worth posting cannot wait give it for me first light.
  21. Is that a lacerta dual focus upgrade. I put one on my 200p I should never have sold that really regret it.
  22. A warm welcome to SGL if you do remove the small cap position the hole opposite the focuser I have read that somewhere.
  23. Cracking images love that chair I need one like that.
  24. I took my polar scope reticule out to clean it put it back in the right configuration and now I have polar caps I can keep dust and dirt from it. Now had it out last night I had screwed everything in solid looked through the circle was blurred but Polaris was sharp when I adjusted it the circle was sharp but I couldn't see polaris I had to guess where to align it. It wasn't like this before now have I put the reticule in the wrong way round or is it something else please.
