it does look like it.i know i can get a cheaper corrector but the tunable top on the paracorr makes it so user friendly looking that i couldnt resist :)

  2. counterweight system sorted.all i need to do now is sort a secondary heater and a battery and wiring for the primary cooling fan and my 16" lightbridge is modded!!!

  3. just chipped my secondary because i was rushing when flocking the scope.what an idiot.luckily its right on the corner and wont affect the views!!

  4. more matt black paint ordered to complete the anti reflection coatings.correct flocking material on its way.even ordered a small paddling pool to clean my 16" mirror in.just a month to now wait before the sky starts getting dark again

Paddling pool - great idea! We've got a ceramic sink and my 14" only fits in it on a tilt so I wondered how I could wash it without worrying about cracking either it or the sink.

It will fit in the bath easily but iy seems like a chore and a waste of water

then have a paddle in it after and you have two for one, simples ;-)

  5. started spraying my truss tubes matt black-going well but only did one set to test.need another 2 cans of paint now :)

  6. dont know why i bothered going out for an hour.apart from the clouds rolling in as soon as i did,it never gets dark enough to see anything worth seeing

Would suggest buying a mirror and constructing the rest but I see a 16" mirror is around £900 anyway - GSO 16" from TS.

    4. crashtestdummy

      crashtestdummy

Would consider a second hand lightbridge but they dont come up often and i can get a new one for £1650

  10. first email on 13th,second one today and if galvoptics dont reply this time i will buy my 18" mirror elsewhere!!!!!

Will agree that if the first then start cheap, my first scope was my cheapest - after 4 it is still the one I use most. All the others are better and bigger. There may be a lesson there.

yeah have seen that which is what has had me wondering.at the moment for me the only reason to go for the pyrex blank is its thickness will provide less flex when grinding

Im sick of surpliers advertising things as *in stock* when they clearly aren't then not actually telling you there will be a delay even when in the notes on your order you state you need it by a certain date and if its not in stock, to notify you!
