      feel ur pain its the same here in scotland nothin but dull and freezein fog kinda sucks ....... :( hope by the end of december the skys b cleared up bit better skys not been as clear as aye would like them to be this year .....

    5 minutes with the binoculars and m35/36/37/38/42/43/45.stargazing doesnt have to be hard.fair enough ive seen them before but im still a total novice so anyone can do it

    im amazed at all the messages ive got recently with sympathy after my ORION OPTICS debacle and also the amount of people giving me reports of similar treatment!cheers guys

      well its a bit of a mixed bag really-andromeda looked better,even a bit of detail in m110 but still struggled with m109 but pretty certain i got it faintly.m78 was pretty faint.m40 was the most pointless messier.m42/m43 looked amazing though but the last time i saw either was through an 8" with light pollution rather than a 12" at a dark site.still not happy with the mirror.think i will gris it and buy a 16" in the summer

    just unpacked my hilux recoated mirror and its scratched to hell,far worse than when i sent it off.to say im unhappy is a total understatement as its cost me alot of money and a 220 mile drive to pick them up.

      Its unlikely that i will get anything back but i will know not to use them in future and can hopefully advise other people so they dont end up in the same situation

    mirrors sent off for hi-lux coating and tube flocked to the max inc drawtube-cant wait to get it back and get some clear skies!!

    car packed,food and flask ready,pizza in the oven and then ready for a drive to somewhere dark!tonights targets are m1,m74 and m77 and maybe some of the ursa major objects if possible that low in the sky

    just fitted my lovely new moonlite focuser and its beautiful and smooooooth.think i may get out for an hour tonight,just to check its ok ;)

    finally managed to distinguish m32 and m110 from the halo of m31-and my moonlite has arrived so its bound to be cloudy for another month!!
