https://www.firstlightoptics.com/offers/offer_ioptron-bosma-6-rumak-maksutov-cassegrain-telescope_219291.html This is what l have been using for the last year. Not a C6 , but l think this is better. Have got loads of use out of this so far . -
Almost Ready For a 5" Frac!
Grotemobile replied to Sunshine's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
I know this is not a refactor but this scope is one of my most used. 6" Mac. Way better than my 4" vixen Doublet on the planets which is what l image . Horses for courses . Have done imaging with both these scopes on the CG-5 mount .6" Mac is easier to use. -
That has come out very sharp. I think that Jupiter is going to be good this year.
-
That is a very good shot of the moon. Very hazy here on the south coast. Did U use single shots of the moon stitched together .
-
Very good for a single shot from a smart phone.

I think the final picture has come out very well. At least U have got something to show for your efforts. -
Best travel scope bar none?
Grotemobile replied to Ags's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
This is my latest scope. Very easy to set up & use. Optics on this are first class. Got it in the offers section in FLO. -
Very good. Loads of detail in that. Great planetary scope the 180.

Grotemobile replied to Wasim60557445's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
I am afraid U have wasted all that money. All the blurb said it was very good. https://www.firstlightoptics.com/dobsonians/skywatcher-skyliner-200p-dobsonian.html# This is the type of thing that people go for. Double the price U paid , but U can get some serious use out of a scope like this. Just fit for the bin I am afraid.🙄😜 -
Very good @ least U have got something to show for your efforts.🥱 Then off to bed.

Skywatcher AZ-EQ5GT DEC wobble/play
Grotemobile replied to Coastliner's topic in Discussions - Mounts
The main problem is if you adjust everything @ room temperature & go out on a very cold night. You will find everything tightens , up as I have found out. Trying to adjust everything on a cold night , is not much fun ,but that is what I did on my CG-5 . Worth the effort. -
https://www.firstlightoptics.com/moon-neutral-density-filters/astro-essentials-variable-polarising-moon-filter.html I have found this one can help as well especially on Jupiter.

Grotemobile replied to Stu's topic in Celestial Events Heads Up
Same here in Peacehaven ,Sussex. No detail @ all. -
Same here. Got rid of the C11 & bought the CPC 800 HD. The amount of use I have had out of this scope. So easy to set up use. The optics are so good. Worth the extra dosh.
