  1. What a superb set of images. I have a particular liking for the full mineral moon shot. I have been wanting to try do one of these myself for ages. Excellent work.
  2. Thanks for the comments and likes everyone much appreciated.
  3. Clavius and Copericus imaged on the evening of 11-02-22 just after collimating my C11. There were lots of low fast moving clouds about but remarkably the seeing wasn't to bad. Not sure what the imaging resolution was as i was using spacers to increase FL. C11 - Asi290mm shot through a Red Baader filter and 2x barlow with added spacers.
  4. Thats telescope as some lovely history Neil. Great stuff.
  5. Funny you should say that Neil as I was out friday evening trying to collimate my C11. I did take a couple of runs on Clavious but i was way over powered. I will post the result later when finished processing.
  6. Great shots Neil. The classic cassagrain is certainly delivering for you. Looking forward to some decent seeing.
  7. A lovely set of high resolution lunar shots Pete.
  8. A very nicel image Rusted considering it was captured in daylight. @johninderby Great information John. This could make a great imaging project for the Classic Cassagrain?
  9. Hi Neil. Thanks for finding the report. That looks a very impressive secondary you have 1/30pv wave and a minor axis of 46.5mm. I can now see how you was getting great contrast in all your planetary images with the big newt. I think it is a great mod well worth doing. I actually have a SW250pds I use for deepsky imaging. I also have a after market orion optics uk secondary mirror of 1/8 wave with a minor axis of 50mm. So I am toying with the idea of giving it a go for planetary imaging. I know it will be short on focal length so I'll have a look on 12d string to see what my best options are. Thanks again.
  10. A lovely capture of the inner planet Neil. I am really looking forward to seeing how this very interesting telescope performs on the planets this coming season, I know it's in more than capable hands. Just on a side note can I ask what size secondary mirror you used for the antares mod you did on the big newt. I've looked through the old posts but can not find any info. 50x70mm?
  11. A superb set of images Neil. Some great detail and contrast in these shots.
  12. A very impressive image to finish this season with Trevor. The summer can't come soon enough🙂
  13. Well done everybody there is some fantastic images for this years competition. @Pete Presland I would just like to say a extra well done as that is one exceptional image for UK conditions congratulations.
  14. Thats a very clean and well defined Saturn Pete. Well more than a reasonable result I'd say.
  15. Yep very nice image Peter and very well processed.
  16. For quite poor seeing Trevor you have pulled out some very good detail. Very well done.
  17. Excellent images Pete. They have a very natural look to them. Glad you got some decent seeing.
  18. Thats a great ET image Steve It as a very nice colour balance and the double star on the trunk is clean and clearly seperated.
  19. You have captured some very nice detail in this image of Saturn. And it is not a easy planet to image due to its elevation.
  20. Thats an excellent image with the seeing we have had of late Neil. It is very strange the higher Jupiter climbs the worse the seeing gets but thats exactly what I am finding too.
  21. A very nice jupiter image/animation you have a lovely white balance too.
  22. The seeing was horrendous in the east midlands last night so you have done well to capture a jupiter image at all. Thats a very good point you make about Dso lrgb imaging. Planetary imaging dont seem to be as badly effected due to the high magnification thats why I branched out aswell. I think narrowband is the way to go now for Dso imaging from our backyards. Thats what I was doing last night setting up my rig for NB Dso imaging for the coming season. (good look on your ventures).
  23. Hi Kirkster Your Tec140 would easy handle a 3x barlow which would give you F/Ratio of F21 thats 5x per pixel and a resolution of 0.26 right in the ball park. And as Vlaiv says up your frames captured and use a ROI of 640x480 HTH.
  24. There is some stunning intricate detail on show in these images Peter. I'm rather taken by the second image🙂
