  1. They are good aren't they. Astro's best kept secret in some respects. For such small compact things, they sure punch well on the Planets & the Moon. Easy to handle, and more importantly FUN! Enjoy....
  2. Just a thought here... you could have a word with OO and have it re-aluminized?.
  3. Oh man.. sorry to here this Stu. Wonder what the heck it was to do that much damage?!
  4. I have the 6mm and love it. They really good performers I'm sure you will love it!. Rob
  5. Fantastic images there.. truly stunning.
  6. I agree John. Its like some sort of re-invented ETX!. And of course that mount screams Meade. I really do like the look of this OTA mind.
  7. Defo re spawn ETX https://www.telescopehouse.com/bresser-messier-mcx-127-goto-telescope-az-eq.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn42XrsXP4wIVAbTtCh1z_wRSEAQYAiABEgJ1__D_BwE Looks good John!. Nice upgrade mod there.
  8. I would imagine the Bresser Mak is a reborn Meade ETX?. I owned both the SW127 & ETX125 OTA's the ETX I had was a white tube with metal machined rear plate SCT thread. Its performance was stunning!. The Bresser Mak is on my wish list! Rob
  9. Nice upgrades!. I enjoy the same thing, old kit - new life projects. Thanks for sharing. Rob
  10. I used it with my Orion Optics 8" f6 SPX oh, some time ago now and a ToUcam webcam.
  11. http://www.stark-labs.com/craterlet.html It still exists then . Its very uncomplicated, and does the job nicely for Moon & Planets
  12. I seem to remember using a piece of software called 'Craterlet' for my planet imaging. The stacked in registax (its been a while though). Its freeware, why not give that a go?. Rob
  13. 15!.. that's crazy. At least make them down lighters.. I really am surprised nobody else has complained. Good luck. I'm sure your solution will go a long way to helping you out. Rob
  14. Good solution, glad to see this is resolved with compromise for you. But what the heck are those spot lights used for!.. hellish light pollution even for non Astronomers!. Guess it must be a car park?. Rob
  15. Ditto on this!. They are becoming harder to find now!. My Orion is a Japan model. Its effectively an Ultima also.
  16. Very nice Stu. Makes me miss my OO SPX 8 f6 even more.. nice to see they have not changed the lens cell!!.. Oh and swapped the focuser out on mine, had to re-size the hole for that. regret parting with - oh yes!
  17. This does not surprise me at all. I feel its down to what sits well with different makes & style of equipment. I personally own 2 Barlows. The Orion shorty Plus APO is just outstanding!. I'll never part with it.
  18. Ade. I would certainly suggest the 2" CG5 tripod. It made the difference to my EQ5 for sure. Rob
  19. Ditto!. My OO SPX 8 f6 was fantastic too. Stu I'll bet yours will be jaw dropping!.. Nice one
  20. Also. When thinking through your design for the insulated box, keep in mind about not trying to make the scope sweat. You may want to consider a extractor fan, just a 120mm PC style that could be solar powered?. Should help with some air flow.
