I have had a fleeting interest in astronomy since childhood and had numerous attempts to get into it seriously but never really took to it. Showing support for my interest my wife and parents purchased me a newtonian scope from argos (the cheap 76mm grey one they sell) but this really put me off for a while as it was barely usable to view planets and was no better than a pair of 9x40 binoculars I had.

Fast forward the best part of 12 months and after having my interest re-sparked by stargazing live I have finally purchased a decent scope courtesy of the nice tax rebate i have just recieved, i have just ordered a SW130p with goto mount from our good friends at FLO.

Thanks for the support I have already had from members here and i look forward to becoming an active member of this amazing forum.
