Hi all, new to the skies and new to the site so planning to find my way around both. Had a new Celestron Astromaster 114EQ for christmas off my lovely Wife to be and i have to say i'm hooked. Look forward to finding out more and maybe making new friends and gaining more knowledge through the site. Happy days

Hi all and thanks for the warm welcome. I've basically just started so i'm pointing and viewing at the moment,getting used to looking up and actually working out which stars and constellations are where. I'm very impressed with my astromaster and i'm thinking of a Barlow lense as my first accessory and a plannisphere as my 2nd!! Cloudy skies overhead tonight!!!

Download Stellarium. It's free, absolutely excellent and we all use it.

It's a must have. That will show you in real time what you're looking at.
