what a difference a TAL makes!!!

this is my first night out with my TAL x3 compared to my best picture taken with a revelation barlow:)

i am very happy with the results, and as this was my first time out with the TAL i think things can only get better!

also i am quite impressed that u can see IO and its shadow in transit (at least i think thats what it is)

I would say that the 2x GSO/Revelation Barlow image was sharpened with to big curves, much to fat.

Were both images taken from the same night? If so (ie the seeing would be mostly the same) I might have to get one of these My Jup shots have been a bit lacklustre

I agree with Rik the 2x shot has been over sharpened with wavelets.

no they wernt taken on the same night, but all my pictures of jupiter looked like that until i got the TAL, and yes i agree the 2x is overdone also the 3x is a bit,needs a bit of deringing i think

Could you post raw stacks (PNG/TIFF) from both Barlows? We could play with the processing and see what's possible to get from them.

What they mean is stack the video and then save the image without doing any other processing.

thanks guys, just cant wait to get back out and try to improve it. also thinking about gettting the TAL X2 and sticking them both in together see what results i get with that but will have to wait till payday!
