No rush to buy anything as the stars aren't going anywhere. Any advice from owners of the type of scope you're interested in is always invaluable. Dobs provide great value and the size you're looking at is the minimum I would be interested in. If its possible, try and look through one first (observation evenings/star parties) to see if it matches your expectations.
